Operator, Please Connect Me To 1982

Today, they bury the former Charlies Angel star Farrah Fawcett. She died last Thursday in Los Angeles of anal cancer. Farrah was only 62 years old. There is a very lovely obituary for her at Legacy.Com.

I don't keep up with what celebrities do much. Unless they're on Fox Business News I have no idea what they're up to most of the time. I didn't know that she and Ryan O'Neal were an 'item' for many years. They even had a son together. Didn't know that.

I remember watching her on TV and enjoyed almost all her performances. To me she was especially good in the made for TV movie The Burning Bed. I thought her star really shined in that one.

Farrah Fawcett

Remember how so many of us young girls wanted to look like her too? Yeah, that's me below.

April 1977
I also sewed this dress.

Well, I tried to copy her anyway. :o)

So, this is my humble goodbye to you Ms. Fawcett. We will miss your shining smile and pretty face.

God bless to her family and friends. We grieve for your loss too.

You're Scaring Me Too Mr. Obama

Apparently, I'm not the only one scared right now.

I know the subject of Mr. Pritchett's letter has been discussed many times on other blogs and e-mails but this is relevant for the true nature of my post which is below. I'm not sure that everyone is familiar with his work and writings.

<----lou letter-----="" pritchett="" s="">

Lou Pritchett

Foremost Leader in Change Management

Lou Pritchett is one of corporate America's true living legends - an acclaimed author, dynamic teacher and one of the world's highest rated speakers. Successful corporate executives everywhere recognize him as the foremost leader in change management. Lou changed the way America does business by creating an audacious concept that came to be known as "partnering." Pritchett rose from soap salesman to Vice-President, Sales and Customer Development for Procter and Gamble and over the course of 36 years, made corporate history.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Lou Pritchett

<----the 2010="" census-----="" federal="">

Link To List Of Questions

Recently, I heard of the approaching questions on the *28 page* 2010 Federal Census on the news. They are outraged at these intrusive, scary questions, as I now feel about them. If the questions the Fed's are DEMANDING of us aren't scary, I don't know what is. If they're not ILLEGAL they're certainly IMMORAL. This is more infringing on our freedoms and rights so that taxes may escalate.

The news media also stated that with the new laws, the Federal government now DEMANDS that all citizens, legal or illegal, fill out the Census. Failure to comply results in jail time and/or a $5,000 fine. Also, if a person does not comply with Herr Government, the Obama Brown Shirts can talk to your neighbors about you and glean information (real or imagined)! The Fed's are hiring ... get this ... ACORN members to take the Census!!! They will be sending these law-breakers around in the cities to ask y'all these questions.

Guess what? Next Census husband and I desided that we're gonna 'disappear' as much as possible off the radar. No surprise there from those who know me, I'm sure. The mistrust of the government runs deep in my Scotch-Irish blood anyway. This makes me so sad though. I'm an avid genealogist who loves family research, one of which is using the Federal Census' to locate kin. And I personally always enjoyed filling out the Census and taking pride in being part of the American dream. But this go around we're not filling out nor mailing in nor talking to anyone about this Census. Period. If an ACORN member walks up my fenced in heavily gated country acres driveway there's gonna be Trouble.

"Yer trespassin' there Bubba." [click]

I didn't know until recently that President Franklin D. Roosevelt (also a Despot Wannabe) used the 1940 Federal Census to round up law-abiding Japanese-Americans and confiscate their legally bought lands with no due process. The Jap-Americans never got those lands or any monies back, as far as I know. They were imprisoned simply because they were of an 'unpopular' race.

Well, that puts a new spin on those questions, don't it?!

I guarantee that if things suddenly didn't keep going the Magic Negro's way, he will blame the Jew's and eventually Christians and/or Conservatives. The Federal Census will help them with imprisoning and/or levying more unfair taxes on any 'undesirables'.

Unless something unforeseen happens, I will be posting this warning again as we get close to April 2010. I hope this helps save some people from what's coming.

Ohhhh, and if nothing changes, it's coming.

Gosh. I hope I'm wrong. But for now, I'm scared too Mr. Pritchett.

"In Germany, they came first for the Communists,
And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist;
And then they came for the trade unionists,
And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist;
And then they came for the Jews,
And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew;
And then ... they came for me ...
And by that time there was no one left to speak up."

Another Tax Productive Americans And Give To Foreign Countries

In the middle of a global financial crisis, our government is debating about signing into law a heinous Cap and Trade bill. The very same type of legislation that countries like New Zealand, France, and others are repealing BECAUSE IT DIDN'T SAVE THE PLANET (as the bill is toting for all the 'greenies') but instead caused a financial collapse of their economies. This new bill is the hell-spawned brain child of Mr. Obama and others. IT'S A TAX ON ENERGY and guess who pays it? Yep, you and me. EVERYTHING WILL DOUBLE IN PRICE FROM TAXES. EVERYTHING: fuel, food, energy, internet, TV, products, clothing, and on and on and on. There will be nothing left unsullied. The higher taxes will be especially devasting on the poor, deeply in debt and the middle-class.

One provision is the USA will be paying other countries to NOT cut down trees!

Also, the Cap and Trade Bill is a gateway bill for the government to control everything you buy and every decision you make. What little freedom we have left will disappear in the stroke of a pen. Yet another Obamanisum.

This bill has already passed the House on Friday by a narrow margin. The link leads to a web site of the individuals who voted on this Tax and Grab bill. For me, these individuals who caved and voted "Aye" are now in my cross-hairs.

Next it goes to the Senate.

House Vote On Passage: H.R. 2454: American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 LINK

I can't emphasize enough how dangerous this all is but I guess very few who are listening. Many of these taxes and freedom stealers are going after non-Union employees! How unfair is THAT!? They'd do well to better remember that many of us have the guns, the resources and the ability to survive.

Sorry to be so harsh but I am very concerned and want y'all to Be Prepared financially, spiritually and emotionally. We are headed for some really tough times in America.

Can We Satisfy Our Government's 14 Carat Minds?

Congressman Ron Paul (TX)

Wow, what adjectives, adverbs and nouns did 2008 presidential candidate and Congressman Ron Paul of Texas not resort to when recalling a horrific vision he experienced this week?

"Could it all be a bad dream, or a nightmare?" Mr. Paul wondered. "Is it my imagination, or have we lost our minds? It's surreal; it's just not believable. A grand absurdity; a great deception; a delusion of momentous proportions, based on preposterous notions and on ideas whose time should never have come; simplicity grossly distorted and complicated; insanity passed off as logic; grandiose schemes built on falsehoods with the morality of Ponzi and Madoff; evil described as virtue; ignorance pawned off as wisdom; destruction and impoverishment in the name of humanitarianism; violence, the tool of change; preventive wars used as the road to peace; tolerance delivered by government guns; reactionary views in the guise of progress; an empire replacing the republic; slavery sold as liberty; excellence and virtue traded for mediocrity; socialism to save capitalism; a government out of control, unrestrained by the Constitution, the rule of law, or morality; bickering over petty politics as we collapse into chaos; the philosophy that destroys us is not even defined."

Is this where you woke up, sir?

"We have broken from reality," he continued. "A psychotic nation. Ignorance with a pretense of knowledge replacing wisdom. Money does not grow on trees, nor does prosperity come from a government printing press or escalating deficits. We're now in the midst of unlimited spending of the people's money, exorbitant taxation, deficits of trillions of dollars spent on a failed welfare/warfare state; an epidemic of cronyism; unlimited supplies of paper money equated with wealth ..."

"Of course, it could all be a bad dream, a nightmare, and that I'm seriously mistaken, overreacting, and that my worries are unfounded. I hope so. But just in case, we ought to prepare ourselves for revolutionary changes in the not-too-distant future."

No, Congressman, this is not a dream. Everything except our souls have been surrendered to satisfy the maglomania of one man. It's a nightmare being orchestrated by the our narcissistic metrosexual 'president' and applauded by the uninformed.

May God have mercy us and our descendants.

Happy First Blogoversary

Wahoo! Today my bloggyland existence turns One!

It's unbelievable that I've been steadily blogging for 365 days. So many wonderful things have happened. Luckily, most of them were great and memorable.

When I created this blog, it was a way for me to get all the thoughts out of my fuzzy blonde head and onto 'paper'. Plugging along and doing my own thing, I never expected or dreamed that I would befriend so many other wonderful and supportive bloggers from around the world. Some of these folks I hope to be friends with until I'm in Heaven and on into eternity.

I've run the gambit on conversations and shared many private thoughts with y'all. Ive 'penned' my views on politics, my faith in Jesus Christ, family, crafts, weather, medical concerns, talked about motorcycles, had bloggyland 'trips', been blessed with a blog award or two, and so forth. The list is seemingly endless.

Y'all have hung with me all along the way.

I am humbled.

And, as it always is in real life, I have learned a great deal from YOU as well. For that, I am truly grateful.

So to everyone who've come along with Yours Truly on this digital journey and shared in my freedom of expression, thank you so much for reading and for all your kind comments, support and prayers.

My love for writing has been re-kindled this past year too. You all have helped to add to this good feeling of sharing My Thoughts Exactly.

Why, I feel plum fuzzy all over ... GROUP HUG!! [lol]

We're Having A Heatwave, A Tropical Heatwave

It is sooooo hot ... I know "how hot is it?"

Well, it is so hot, I'll bet I could fry an egg on the sidewalk! During daylight hours the heat index has been hovering right about 116 degrees.

Day, after day, after day, after day, after frickin' day ... [lol]

Wow.

So, how about some humor, to, eh, lighten the situation.

What is the Mexican weather report?
Chili today and hot tamale.

If you saw a heat wave, would you wave back?

Jack was living in Arizona during a heat wave. As he got out of the shower he said to his wife: "It's just too hot to wear clothes today honey, what do you think the neighbors would think if I mowed the lawn like this?"

"Probably that I married you for your money."

Ok, ok, I won't make you suffer with any more lame jokes. Have a great day y'all and try to stay cool. Happy summer soltice. :o)

I just know that after receiving our electric bill, I'm gonna look like that too ...[groan]

Fun Time At The Hospital

WELL! I don't know about you, but I am so glad that yesterday 'is in the can', as I've heard them say in the film industry.

Gosh, what a day. It wasn't bad, just long and tedious. Our hospital rents the machine that does the kidney stone pounding (can't remember the name of the machine).

First, the truck hauling it broke down enroute. The hospital called us at home, "don't show up until 10:30 am". No problem. We arrived at the appointed time. Hubby gets prepped with needles in his arms so he can't move on the gurney. Then, we learn that the machine itself is 'broke' or malfuntioning in some way. We had to wait until 2:00 pm for Fed Ex to rush a part from somewhere. Then the doctor is so backed up with work that he can't get to Steve until about 5:30 pm.

With all this going on, we didn't return home until 9:30 pm! We were gone about 12 hours. The house was dark, doggies were worried and both of us were so tired. Steve had terrible nausea this time for some reason. He *never* throws up but did so twice last night. Poor guy. And I felt sorry for the hospital staff. They were tired too and couldn't go home for quite awhile. I thanked them all profusely, they kept apologizing and I said "it's not y'alls fault". We all had to smile and laugh at the comedy of errors. The staff were exceedingly kind. I got to talk about the love of Christ to quite a few people too. To me, that's a good day.

Our pastor and wife were able to visit with us that afternoon in the hospital and he looked tired (he's had heart trouble). I didn't know that he also has kidney stones but they can't be removed because of the pacemaker and he may bleed to death! Please continue to remember Pastor Byron Scott in prayer? Thanks y'all. Anyway, I made sure to keep the visit short so he wouldn't feel bad about having to leave and get some rest. Pastor said he's napping twice a day now. I hope that's a good thing. We all prayed together, then they could go home and relax. Their stopping by meant a lot to us. At least they live right there in town and only had to travel a couple of miles to get home. We live over 30 minutes from the hospital. That's not bad out here as it's "country minutes". All country driving, not much traffic. :o)

Short story long [giggle] all my husband's kidney stones have been pounded with sonic waves and a stint put in the right side to ease passage. The stint is scheduled to be removed in the Doc's office next Tuesday. Now the remains of the stones should pass as grains of sand and small pebbles as time progresses. Poor fellow is so sore and achy but at least now he can heal and, after about a week or so, get back to his normal activities.

Thanks so much for all the kind thoughts. I will certainly convey y'alls warm wishes his way.

Wordless Wednesday (06/17)

NOTE: I know it's Wordless Wednesday, but thought I'd explain for some folks. Hubby is having out-patient surgery known as Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (for kidney stones) today for kidney stones. I'm sure he feels this way right now, poor guy. :o)

Like, He's So Stoned, Man

Sweetie in Dahlonega, GA

My husband is scheduled to have minor surgery tomorrow (Wednesday) at a local hospital, time unknown at the present. The surgery goes by the wordy title of "Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL)". That's a mouthful, ain't it? He is pre-registering for the procedure this afternoon.

Put simply, he has kidney stones on both sides and they will be "pounded" with shock waves, then two stints left in for one week to allow the stone remains to flush safely. Poor guy. This is the second time he's had to have this done.

In his case, the stones are caused by consuming too many 'dark fluids' (i.e. coke, coffee, etc.). Some stones are caused by eating too much red meat. I think that's how it works. Anyway, this last motorcycle trip jarred the stones lose and upon our return he had terrible back pain on both sides. The real clue was when he started passing a little blood. OK, time to see a doctor! He was fortunate that the Urologist could see him so quickly. After the proper CT scan and exam, Doc said "Yep, you've got stones again." So, there we are.

I'll be sure to let y'all know when he's back home and resting comfortably. And I'm throwing out all the cola NOW! :o)

More States Declare Sovereignty From Federal Tyranny

Well, well, well!!! It appears there is good news about the 10th Amendment movement front in Georgia! I didn't know this, but the push to declare Sovereignty from tyranny started back in February or earlier here in Georgia according to The 10th Amendment Center.

There's a lot of "Whereas"s and "Wherefore"s in the write up but it's easy reading. Source I know so many have been praying fervently for this to happen. Thank you for joining us in this humble prayer for freedom. God does answer prayer and bless those whom believe & trust in His Word.

I chanced upon on some other articles today, because I heard that now even Oregon is declaring their 10th amendment rights!! Source Yeah, Oregon!? I was shocked too. Wow.

So, if you're one of those good people writing letters, making phone calls, donating time / money, instructing others about our rights ... keep up the good work folks! Looks like all our efforts are starting to pay off. Don't give up ... keep it up!

Oh, and also Kentucky has declared their rights to Sovereignty. Source So, the list of freedom fighters seems to be growing month by month.

Hmmmm. Looks like there's trouble in the 'Progressive' Utopia and their Rock-Star-God-In-Chief over their man made false kingdom on earth.

Awww ....

The Corruption Continues In The Obama Administration

What's behind Obama's sudden attempt to fire the AmeriCorps inspector general?
By: Byron York
Chief Political Correspondent
06/11/2009 8:14 PM EDT
New info: See updates below for Walpin's "one-hour deadline" e-mail to the White House.

There are a number of unanswered questions today about President Obama's abrupt decision to fire the inspector general of the AmeriCorps program, Gerald Walpin. Obama sent letters to House and Senate leaders yesterday informing them that he was firing Walpin, effective 30 days from the date of the letters.

"It is vital that I have the fullest confidence in the appointees serving as Inspectors General," the president wrote. "That is no longer the case with regard to this Inspector General."

The 30 day requirement is important because last year Congress passed the Inspectors General Reform Act, which was designed to strengthen protections for IGs, who have the responsibility of investigating allegations of waste, fraud and abuse within federal agencies, against interference by political appointees or the White House. Part of the Act was a requirement that the president give Congress 30 days' notice before dismissing an IG. One of the co-sponsors of the Act was then-Sen. Barack Hussein Obama.

The Act also requires the president to outline the cause for his decision to remove an IG. Beyond saying that he did not have the "fullest confidence" in Walpin, Obama gave no reason for his action.

There are two big questions about the president's actions. One, why did he decide to fire Walpin? And two, did he abide by the law that he himself co-sponsored?

According to Republican Sen. Charles Grassley, a strong advocate of inspectors general, Walpin received a call from the White House Counsel's office on Wednesday evening. Walpin was told that he had one hour to either resign or be fired. Senate sources say Walpin asked why he was being fired and, according to one source, "The answer that was given was that it's just time to move on. The president would like to have someone else in that position." Walpin declined to resign.

Grassley fired off a letter to the president on Thursday saying that, "I was troubled to learn that [Wednesday] night your staff reportedly issued an ultimatum to the AmeriCorps Inspector General Gerald Walpin that he had one hour to resign or be terminated," Grassley wrote. "As you know, Inspectors General were created by Congress as a means to combat waste, fraud, and abuse and to be independent watchdogs ensuring that federal agencies were held accountable for their actions. Inspectors General were designed to have a dual role reporting to both the President and Congress so that they would be free from undue political pressure. This independence is the hallmark of all Inspectors General and is essential so they may operate independently, without political pressure or interference from agencies attempting to keep their failings from public scrutiny."

Grassley's version of events suggests that the White House first tried to muscle Walpin out of his job without having to go through the 30-day process. It was only when Walpin refused to resign that the White House then notified Congress of the president's intention to fire Walpin.

The bigger question is why the president is doing this and why he is attempting to do it so quickly. Senate sources now believe Obama is firing Walpin over Walpin's investigation of Kevin Johnson, a former NBA star and a prominent supporter of the president.

Johnson, now the mayor of Sacramento, California, started a non-profit organization called St. Hope. The group's mission, according to its website, is "to revitalize inner-city communities through public education, civic leadership, economic development and the arts." As part of its work, St. Hope received a grant of about $850,000 from AmeriCorps.

Last year, Walpin began an investigation of how Johnson's group spent the money. According to the Associated Press, "[Walpin] found that Johnson, a former all-star point guard for the Phoenix Suns, had used AmeriCorps grants to pay volunteers to engage in school-board political activities, run personal errands for Johnson and even wash his car." Walpin asked federal prosecutors to investigate. In April, the U.S. attorney in Sacramento, a Bush holdover, declined to file any criminal charges in the matter and also criticized Walpin's investigation.

That might suggest that St. HOPE was OK, and it was Walpin who was in the wrong. But at the same time prosecutors decided not to file any charges against St. HOPE, the U.S. attorney's office also entered into a settlement with St. HOPE in which the group also agreed to pay back about half of the $850,000 it had received from AmeriCorps.

In his letter to the president, Grassley defended Walpin's performance. "There have been no negative findings against Mr. Walpin by the Integrity Committee of the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), and he has identified millions of dollars in AmeriCorps funds either wasted outright or spent in violation of established guidelines," Grassley wrote. "In other words, it appears he has been doing his job. "

The bottom line is that the AmeriCorps IG accused a prominent Obama supporter of misusing AmeriCorps grant money. After an investigation, the prominent Obama supporter had to pay back more than $400,000 of that grant money. And Obama fired the AmeriCorps IG.

I say we fire the illegal self-professing 'progressive*' Mr. Obama now before the rest of the country goes down the tubes. Mr. Obama is CORRUPT and evil! So much for 'change'.

You what the difference is between God and Obama?

God knows He's not Obama.

     * The term Progressive has replaced Liberal.
The Democrats-Republicans are using it now
to hide more of their corrupt politics.

We Had A Long Way To Go And A Short Time To Get There

"Did anyone order a Biker Gang?"

This is outside the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Dahlonega before The Big Ride that day. The restaurant has been in business since at least the 1970s.

This was nice mini-vacation in the mountains. The air is cool and crisp, the landscape beautiful, the rides exhilarating and the natives are friendly. Some of those hairpin turns in the mountains with 15 mph speed limits posted are heart pumping (they're not kidding either, better slow down with those decreasing radius' - yahoo!!!).

The only 'bad' part was the ride up and back. It was nasty, stinky, yuck, pooey *HOT*! I think for the remainder of our vacations this year we will stick with riding in 'cages' (car/truck) or wait until Fall for anymore 2 wheel excursions. It was great though and I'm glad we went.

I'm going to invent a T-shirt that says "I survived riding 2 wheels in Georgia in June" or something like that. [lol]

Steve, me, Rebecca and her husband Tom,
Barbara "Bebe" and husband Dennis "Pappy"

We met Barbara for the first time this trip. She is as sweet as Georgia ice tea and sharp as a tack. I really like her.

One thing I've learned as I age, is to enjoy and treasure all my friends more. You never know when you may never get to see them again. And all my friends are such fun to be around. :o)

Well, enjoy the photos y'all! Thanks for stopping by.

Sunday Musings And Trip Preparations

I will be away from bloggyland for a short while this week. We're taking another motorcycle vacation (getting monotonous, isn't it?! Ahhh, being retired is so nice. tee hee). But we can't actually leave until we hear from our good friends that we will be meeting at our destination. So, we're scurrying about like little squirrels, putting this here, putting that there.

Once the phone call comes in, it's pack and leave time.

I'm glad we're still here today, though, because we did get to see our Pastor again. The sermon was the biblical meat, as always. That's one of the many things I like about Byron, he treats listeners like grown ups with the lessons. I appreciate that. He's looking quite well after the heart attack, by the way, if that's the proper terminology. A little fatigued maybe. I do know how that is being a bit of an overachiever myself. Gotta keep moving 'cause I'd rather die while I'm living, than live while I'm dead.

Speaking of that ...

Our neighbor called this afternoon to let us know her husband had passed away today. I know we've lost a good friend and neighbor in Dr. Richard Camberg. Everybody affectionately called him "Doc" for short. He was quite elderly (mid-80's, I think) and had been languishing in a Nursing Home up in Baxley for almost a year now. He had Parkinson's disease. Doc professed to being an atheist which I hope is not true. Many have tried talking to him about salvation but I don't know if he was ever persuaded. But I don't know his heart, only God does. Here's a link to his memorial at findagrave.

I'll always remember how kind he was to us when we first moved here. We were so broke, having just built the house. He let us borrow his Gravely mower for a long time until we could afford our first riding mower. Doc really helped us get settled in. He was always very kind hearted to people and had an amazing sense of humor. He'll certainly be missed.

Oh, and good news ... our 5 year niece, Amberlee, is much improved! The MRI tests came back negative. There's no cancer or tumor or anything abnormal. Guess what caused the symptoms?? She has severe allergies! Her mom has now gotten rid of all the heavily perfumed laundry detergent and anything heavily scented. Little Cuddle Bug (my nickname for her) is almost complete healed!! Yay! Thanks y'all for your prayers and concerns. God answers prayer. :o)

Anyway ...

Gotta go do some more work in preparation for the trip.

I hope y'all have a super week! God bless.

You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream

In honor of the 44th President of the United States
Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream has introduced a new flavor: "Barocky Road."

Barocky Road is a blend of half vanilla, half chocolate, and surrounded by nuts and flakes.

The vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised and usually denied as an ingredient.

The nuts and flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow.

The cost is $100.00 per scoop.

When purchased it will be presented to you in a large beautiful cone, but then the ice cream is taken away and given to an undeserving person in line behind you.

You are left with an empty wallet and no change, holding an empty cone with no hope of ever getting any ice cream.

Now, isn't that stimulating!?

Now, how about a funny video just for good measure:

Have a great weekend y'all! :o)

Don't Tread On Me Postcard

Don't Tread On Me

“In my weak judgment, a government is strong when it applies to the most important end of all governments – the rights and privileges of the people.”
-- Patrick Henry

These postcards are new and are available through an Internet company called Zazzle. They are also fighting for our 10th Amendment rights (States rights).

Rattle Snake

And kinda on the same subject, a real "don't tread on me" wandered into our country backyard a day or two ago. I was mowing and luckily missed the visitor with my multiple cutting blades. Being good stewards of the land, we didn't kill it, but shooed this little bad boy into the neighboring woods. Pretty, isn't he? He had just shed his skin and was all shiny.

Join us every Friday for Postcard Friendship Friday hosted as always by the lovely and gracious Marie at Viola! Vintage Postcards. Everyone, even snakes, are welcome.

Did Anyone Else Catch That?

"Shine your shoes massa?"
Did anyone else catch that on the news tonight!? Mr. Obama sitting with the Saudi King said to the camera's he reverently said he "wanted to visit the birthplace of Islam"!!!! Proof positive about where his heart lies. All the while bowing & scraping like a lap dog.

This is scandalous behaviour on our 'leaders' part!

Now I hear that Al-Qaeda is planning a bigger hit on us than 9-11. You know with ol' weak knees in office there will be no prepartion, or subsequent retaliation, for any such actions.

If you're not worried, you're not paying attention.

A Tribute To A Southern Hero

I received this in an e-mail from one of my husband's cousins in Texas. I thought y'all might enjoy the history too.

Remembering Jefferson Davis: American Patriot & Southern Hero
May 23, 2009

Let’s not forget Monday May 25th is Memorial Day!!

Once upon a time, school children were taught about great Americans like Jefferson Davis whose 201st birthday is June 3rd.

The statue of Jefferson Davis and his two sons, Joe and Jim Limber, is nearing completion and will be placed at Beauvoir, the last home of the Confederate President, on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. Jim was the Davis’ adopted black son. Read more about this Sons of Confederate Veterans Project.

On Sunday, May 28, 1893, a few days before "Memorial Day", in New Orleans, a story began that overshadowed all other events.

This was the day when the remains of Jefferson Davis, former president of the Confederate States of America, was taken to Richmond, Virginia for final burial.

Jefferson Davis died in 1889 and over 200,000 people witnessed his temporary burial at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans. Four years later on a rainy Saturday, on May 27, 1893, the remains of Jefferson Davis was removed and taken to Confederate Memorial Hall in New Orleans.

At 4:30PM, May 28th, a funeral service was held for Mr. Davis and a moving memorial address was delivered by Louisiana's Governor Murphy J. Foster as thousands listened. A reverent silence fell among the people as the casket was given to the commitment of veterans from Virginia.

The procession then formed for a slow march to the railroad station on Canal Street.

Train No. 69, with Engineer Frank Coffin, waited patiently as the casket was taken to the platform and passed through an open observation car to a catafalque.

Train engine No. 69, of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad slowly pulled out of New Orleans Station at 7:50PM for the 1,200 mile trip.

After a brief stop at Bay Saint Louis, and a slow-down at Pass Christian, where hundreds of people lined the tracks, the Jefferson Davis Funeral Train stopped at Gulfport, Mississippi, near Beauvoir the Southern president’s last home.

Uncle Bob Brown, a former servant of the Davis family and a passenger on the train, saw the many flowers that the children had laid on the side of the railroad tracks. Brown was so moved by this beautiful gesture that he wept uncontrollably.

In Mobile, Alabama, the train was met by a thousand mourners and the Alabama Artillery fired a 21-gun salute. Locomotive No. 69 was retired and Locomotive No. 25 was coupled to the train. The new train's Engineer was C.C. Devinney and Warren Robinson was its fireman.

The Atlanta Journal reported, quote, "The Cradle of the Confederacy is ablaze with life and light tonight. Everything is ready for honoring the memory of Jefferson Davis. Tomorrow morning with the rising of the sun the funeral train from New Orleans will reach Montgomery.” unquote.

Church bells rang in Montgomery, Alabama when the train pulled into the city at 6:00AM on May 29th. A severe rainstorm delayed the funeral procession to about 8:30AM when a caisson carried the body of Davis to Alabama's state capitol. A procession carried the casket through the portico where Jefferson Davis, in 1861, had taken the oath of office as President of the Confederacy.

The casket was placed in front of the bench of the Alabama Supreme Court. Above the right exit was a banner with the word "Monterrey" and above the left exit was a banner with the words "Buena Vista." During the War with Mexico Jefferson Davis was a hero at Monterrey and wounded at Buena Vista.

At 12:20PM the funeral train departed over the Western Railway of Alabama and Atlanta and West Point Railroad for Atlanta.

At 4:30PM the funeral train pulled into Union Station in Atlanta, Georgia. It is estimated that 20,000 people lined the streets as the funeral procession made their way to the state capitol. When Davis’ body lay in state at the Capitol, it was guarded by Atlanta’s Gate City Guard which had served as Company F, 1st Georgia (Ramsay’s).

At 7:00PM the train went north on the Richmond and Danville Railroad. The train traveled through Lula, Georgia, Greenville, South Carolina and stopped at the North Carolina capitol at Raleigh.

A brief stop was made in Danville, Virginia where a crowd of people gathered around the train and sang, "Nearer My God To Thee" as city church bells toiled.

Finally, the train reached Richmond, Virginia on Wednesday, May 31, 1893, at 3:00AM. It was Memorial Day. The casket was taken to the Virginia State House.

At 3:00PM, May 31st, the funeral procession started for Hollywood Cemetery.

With Mrs. Jefferson Davis were her daughters, Winnie and Margaret. Six state governors acted as pallbearers. It was estimated that 75,000 people attended this final salute to President Davis. The ceremony concluded with a 21-gun salute and "Taps."

There is a memorial to Jefferson Davis and the Confederacy here outside of Irwinville, Georgia: Jefferson Davis Memorial Historic Site. We visited the site after moving to Georgia. It is well worth the visit.

A Kodak Moment

I thought I'd share a couple of the photos from last week. Steve traveled to his sister's house to visit for awhile. I stayed home with the doggies.

Amberlee (5 yrs old)

Isn't she a doll? She is officially my husband's niece and the little rascal wormed her way into my heart when still newborn. My nickname for her is 'cuddle bug'. When she was an infant, her mom put one of those bibs on her for feeding. The bib had 'cuddle bug' stitched on the front and it just kinda stuck.

Amberlee sitting on a 2009 Triumph Bonneville T100

Boy, they start early, don't they? That's me all over at that age and I'm told that Amberlee is the same way. If there were wheels nearby, especially anything on 2 wheels, I was so all over it. [lol] Her Uncle Steve said Amberlee made a bee-line for the green & cream colored Bonneville T100, which happens to be one of my favorite bikes. Good girl!

Amberlee is having an MRI this morning. To-date, it has not been determined what caused the sudden seizure and fever from a couple of weeks ago. Plus, now she has persistent rash and cough! Something is array with this little girls health. Hopefully, the MRI will assist the doctors into making an intelligent diagnosis that she may be healed.

I am in prayer this morning for my little cuddle bug. She's got to be well so she can go riding with her Aunt Sparky! :o)

Deuteronomy 7:15And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee. (KJV)
