Jesus loves us with a pure undying agape love. HE demonstrated His eternal love over 2,000 years ago at Golgotha, suffering in our stead, then rose again on the third day that all who believe in Him may know eternal salvation.
Have a blessed Sunday.
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) II Cor. 6:2
This is the type of TV I grew up with. I miss clean, slap stick, family friendly variety shows. The Carol Burnett Show was definitely the pick of the litter.
The rain and clouds have passed through. Now it's beautiful. How about something inspirational today? I received this video in an e-mail from my husband. Enjoy.
Halloween is such good, clean fun. Reminds me of my salad days. Along with the usual "funnies" today, there is a link to one of my favorite Bugs Bunny cartoons "Broomstick Bunny". (Deepest apologies to my European friends who many not be able to view the Youtube cartoon.)
Instead of cartoons, I thought I'd share one of my favorite British comedies. Just recently, I obtained the entire DVD set of Fawlty Towers. John Cleese is a comedic genius, to be sure.
“I sometimes feel I have nothing to say, and I want to communicate this.”
-- Damien Hirst
You're been warned. *grin*
That pretty much sums up my feelings for this post. After the carport renovations, it’s been dull as dishwater in this neck of the woods.
Riding has been unattainable lately. Seems I’ve twisted my right knee. It’s developed this lovely popping, burning and hurting act. I appreciate the man that created Aleve. (What a life safer!) My husband is in the same pitiful situation. I suspect this is a result of the four or so days of standing on solid concrete floors, climbing ladders, swinging the paint roller around, moving the new cabinets into place, and so forth. Our situation has put any motorcycling activities on temporary hold.
All work -- No play -- makes Sparky --something-- --something--.
Ok, it’s not that bad. *lol* At least it's finally Fall. My favorite time of the year. More than likely I'll be up and cruising in a few days. And I’m only being lazy by not penning any correspondence. I suffer from these temporary episodes of brain freeze in the blogging department. I am enjoying everyone else's writings though.
Anyway, that’s my situation at the moment.
If you're still awake, hope your evening is blessed.
[Sorry about the video size. I can't figure out how to squish it down.]
I enjoy the traditional hymns best, don’t you?
My memory is getting atrocious. It was someone else’s pearls of wisdom that prompted this post otherwise there would be first a credit for this inspiration.
Paraphrasing, I’m sure, but here goes: “It is better to listen to God first before prayer.”
I know that’s rather simplistic but truth usually is.
In other words, it is better to READ God's Word than to talk excessively AT Him making requests, therefore ignoring His voice. Reading His Word faithfully is one of my many failings. I’m too busy, too tired, too bored, too distracted, too hungry and plethora of other excuses. I am proficient at submitting requests to our tolerant Lord or to pray for others. That’s easy. Make no mistake, though, prayer is key to one of our many wondrous, privileged communications with our loving Saviour. I hope I’m learning that it’s equally, maybe more so, important to listen to Him speak to me first before making my wishes known. Especially since I tend to get the wrong end of the stick in many situations.
So since there are no more burning bushes or pillars of smoke or tablets of stone to guide us, in this “present evil age” [Galatians 1:4] He has chosen to speak to us through His written Word. And the Word was “made flesh” [John 1:14] in our Lord Jesus Christ. Reading His Word is to listen to Jesus talk to us, and therein lays peace. This truth is revealed numerous times in His Holy Word.
Be as the Bereans and “search the Word daily to see if it is so”. [Acts 17:11]
I hope that makes sense. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a lot of reading to do. :)
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
We've been lulled into a major summer tedium around Red Bird Acres. I could discuss the news (ugh, no thanks), or the weather (it's hot, no surprise there), or I could talk about how our not very old Trane A/C has suddenly decided to go to Air Conditioner Heaven and we need a new one. Nah, too depressing. Rather than all those exciting topics, I thought I'd share a website that I find mind numbingly entertaining. Try not to show your disappointment in me too much. *grin*
I have a special penchant for Schnauzers. I do love them in all shapes and colors, with their little fuzzy faces, cropped tails, and happy-go-lucky attitude, but after losing Maxie, decided to not own one anymore. They're too much work.
By the way, there are other Live Cam's available at YouTube. It's a pleasant way to waste an hour or two.
No Funny Friday today. There's no stomach for humour at this time since, thanks to our lack of law's in America, I realize we are living under a Marxist regime. As one can feel the air heavy with moisture before a rain storm, I can feel an armed insurrection is in the air.
Banning the Confederate flag is a further assault on the South perpetrated by a man who was possibly born, and definitely raised, in Indonesia. He is not an American in his heart. I am a born and bred Southerner, who not only grew up with Confederate flags everywhere but owned some. There was no racism expressed by any of the people I knew that owned them. It's our culture. It pertains to a time in our history when we where all fighting for our sovereignty. I am deeply saddened in my heart about the killings in Charleston. What exacerbated the event was our alleged "President" on National News stated that the flag was racist and "it's in our DNA". He is truly evil and so are any of his followers / voters. I truly believe that The Left wants a race war. This is their desire so they can impose Martial Law with the goal to compensate guns. Then, all hell will break lose. As the Bible says, the earth is the Devil's domain. In our country, this all started when the government removed Christ from the Public Schools. We are empty clay vessels, created that way to hold God within us. When God is removed, the devil steps in. We've gone downhill from there. May God have mercy on us even though we (and that includes silent Christians) are undeserving."He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus." [Rev. 22:20]
I know this is Funny Friday but I have to voice an opinion on what's happening at our borders.
Mexicans are sending their unattended illegal migrant children on buses to America for us to care for and our government then gives them immediate health care, security, food, shelter, lawyers, education, etc. Yet our Veterans, who willingly sacrificed for God and Country, are being dissed, abandoned and deliberately killed by ignoring by the alleged medical personnel sent to help them!? I am outraged! All this while the man who calls himself Obama, yet again, does nothing.
Iraq is falling apart again. There's endless scandals surround Barry like flies on poo. He continually bad mouth's our country then deliberately aids and abets the very criminals who wants us all dead, the enemy. And on, and on, and on.
Please, this Beast must be impeached and then kicked out of our country.
The continued wickedness of the Obama Administration is so reprehensible, further words fail me.
First off, this year today is when we Georgians vote in the Primaries. Since I try to always exercise my right to vote, even if it's a choice between the devil I know or the devil I don't know. That's first on the plate. I know it's one of our ever dwindling rights as an American.
Next on the plate, it's my birthday! Hubby usually takes me out for something special and treats me like a Queen. Truthfully, he does that year round, but on my birthday he goes all out. I sure found a treasure when I met him.
So I am off to fill my plate with more fun and frivolity. I would also like to wish everyone a happy, fun filled day.
[waving my hand regally] Go do something joyful just for yourself.
Since I'm Queen For A Day, I proclaim this allowable. *smile*
I remember warning everyone that would listen about Obama in 2009. He absolutely HATES America. Hands down. He wants all Americans, especially whites and Jews, dead and in hell with all the other 'infidels'. He's an evil, vile man. Please share this video with others. And pray for a 'velvet revolution' that will return us to our Christian values. Thank you.
It's really cooled off here with all this lovely rain. It's got me feeling fine this evening and thought I'd share the fun.
Enjoy!
Desperation Samba
(halloween in tijuana) By: Jimmy Buffett, Will Jennings, Timothy B. Schmit 1985 This song brings to mind two things. first, an image of robert mitchum Standing in the doorway of a bar in tijuana, and second, a line by Thomas mcguane, my brother-in-law, from his book, panama, "the night wrote a check the morning couldn't cash." - used by permission of author
Halloween in tijuana Full moon in my eyes I wonder how in the hell I got here Without a disguise
Should I take this last step Or turn myself around Or follow my intuition into that border town
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico [I want to dance in mexico] We do the desperation samba con nos amigos [ ...with our friends] Yo quiero a bailar en mexico We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
Pretty girls they beckon From their rooms above Skeletons are dancing In the name of love
Don't know where I'm goin' I don't like where I've been There may be no exit But hell I'm going in
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico We do the desperation samba con nos amigos Yo quiero a bailar en mexico We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
I hear the people singing that same old haunting tune I drink because I know it's me against the moon
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico We do the desperation samba con nos amigos Yo quiero a bailar en mexico We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
-- spoken: "tss, tss tss" "hey, psst amigo!"
Ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico We do the desperation samba con nos amigos Yo quiero a bailar en mexico We do the desperation samba con nos amigos

I know it's a little late, but the libtard's are still screaming that the "sky is falling, the sky is falling" since the Sequester (engineered by Obama) went through.
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze;
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee; How great Thou art!
How great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee;
How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
