Blogger Is Changing The Rules Again

Apparently, Google is changing things around again. If you're one of my "followers" and do not have a Google account (who doesn't have a Google account these days!?), it will be necessary to create one and re-follow anyone on Blogger.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

I wondered why I suddenly lost about 10 or more 'friends' in the past week. This is why. So, I went ahead and deleted the old "Follow" button since it will be rendered inactive by the 11th, and placed the new Google+ Followers button on the right hand side. If you would be so kind as to click, I do appreciate it. I've placed it below the Motorcycle Websites list (you can see where my priorities lay ... lol).

This is new to me also. Please let me know if I need to re-follow any of you. Thanks.

I'm still nursing a mild head cold. Just my luck, the sun is shining and it's lovely outside. *sigh* I would so love to ride. Maybe by the end of the week ...

PS: Now I just noticed that the Google+ Followers button on this page is not working. *sigh* Can't figure out why and I'm too weary to check any further. Sorry for the inconvenience. Stay tuned sports fans ...

PSS: It's been fixed ... I hope. ~:)

Giants Among Us #Flowers

Anyone else having difficulties with Blogger this week? I can't get all my blogs to display as previously.

It's giving me this business, as above, which is pretty useless. I can only see one post at a time and not all the blogs. If I'm missing some of your posts, this is why, and I do apologize.

Silly thing. *sigh*

It seems that most of my blogging buddies are posting photos of their sunflowers.

Guess I'll jump in. *smile*

I planted Giant Sunflowers all around the garden. At least these are doing well.

Also, sewed Giant Zinnia seeds under the Purple Martin houses near the garden.

What we lack in vegetables [gee, I don't know why ... cough] I've made up for with a profusion of color.

Follow Me ...

Too bad butlers don't have "follow" buttons.

I don't know what I've done (I'm sure it was me) but I've lost my "Follower" button on Blogger and can't seem to get it back. Even clicking on the Add A Gadget button in the Layout section doesn't help. It's not even listed as an option.

Dang.

Aw well. Onward and upward. I hope other bloggers can still follow me, but, like Scarlett, I'll worry about that later.

How do you like my new blogger header? Hubby snapped that of me while we where walking home on our country dirt road today. The building in the distance is the Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church. I thought it looked almost, well, prophetic. I'm walking home and looking Home. *smile* Huh? Get it? Guess ya had to be there ... *giggle*

Our little vegetable garden is coming along nicely.

The above photo is from March 30th.

And below is the one from today:

"Give my creation LIIIIIFE!"

I can't wait to be munching down on fresh Zucchini, Yellow Squash Ford Hook Limas and the like. Even the Giant Zinnia's are doing well. I'm so pleased.

One of the joys of country living is one has to be pretty self sufficient. If something goes wrong, you have to deal with it. I don't mind this but sometimes it's a bit of a bother. Today the points on the well pump decided that this would be a good day to no longer function. GREAT! (not) *lol* Thankfully, it's no big problem. Our Go-To-Guy for the well repairs saved our bacon in no time.

A few dollars spent later, we're back in business. Hubby did try to repair it himself (he's so smart) but well pumps use special parts and we still would have needed our rescuer. Thank you Lord for people with these special skills.

And this was an absolutely lovely Spring day. And what could be wrong with that!? *smile*

"This is the day the LORD has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it."

A Blog Question, Need Help Please

Any of my blog buddies good at using this blogger? For months now, I have been trying and trying to get rid of this grey background template on my blog. (see screen capture below)

The gray really shows up where I don’t have any graphics. I want it to be a white background. I think if I change templates, I’ll lose all my graphics, etc., won’t I? And I don’t want that to happen! Any suggestions pretty please? Oh, and K-I-S-S because I am when it comes to computers. [lol]

Thanks if you can help out. If not, no problem, I'll just put up with it.

I Am Confused

Anyone else having trouble with, and are confused by, the "new not so improved" blogger? I SURE AM! As anyone who visits my blog lately (does anyone still visit??) has noticed, the right hand side of my blog now seems to reside at the bottom!! And I haven't changed anything except their templates.

Or is this problem just my computer? Maybe I should clean out my cookies or something? Which reminds me, there are some cookies in the cabinet ... opps, better not go there! [lol]

Anyway, I don't like this new blogger format.

I did sign up with WordPress "just in case" but I have found using their format even more confusing.

I'm also very confused by the election outcome, and I'm tired of thinking about it. It's amazing how destructive greedy stupid people are en masse.

Looks like my gut feeling was right: THE AMERICAN REPUBLIC IS OFFICIALLY DEAD. Most people want free stuff more than care where it comes from, or who has to pay for it. More people would rather be told what to think, than think for themselves. More people care more about the cult of personality than the rule of law.

Face it, we're screwed. America has passed the point of no return. The Constitution is dead. Sorry, Lord--we had our chance and we pissed it away. I humbly beg of You that we may learn from this failure and get it right the next time, whenever -- or if ever--that may be.

Prepare, pray and lock and load, y'all.

Aw, well, I'll worry about the blog layout and other things after the surgery. Oh, which reminds me, the Thoracic outlet syndrome surgery has been planned for November 27th at the local hospital. The doctor has to actually remove one of my ribs in order for the neck artery to become unblocked.

I think I'll spend my timing worrying about that instead. For now, anyway.

Access Denied

Anyone else having trouble leaving comments on various blogs? I am. Whilest attempting to leave a comment on some blogs, I get this message:

Your current account (xxxx@yahoo.com) does not have access to view this page.
Click here to logout and change accounts.

Ooooookkkk.

So, I popped over to Blogger's so-called Help page and found this little ditty:
Here are some things that worked for a couple of people.

1) Before attempting to Login in Make sure the "Remember Me" Checkbox is UNTICKED.
2) Make sure you are running the latest version of your browser, if not, upgraded it.
3) Make sure you REALLY have cleared both your COOKIES and CACHE
4) Once Cleared shut down the browser
5) Then Open it again and CHeck that the Cookies and Cache are indeed Empty. This is very important. The problem seems to be with corrupt cookies and cache files
6) If that is OK try going to www.blogger.com . Don't login yet, press CTRL-F5 and then try logging in again
7) If that still does not work try logging into Gmail first and then go to www.blogger.com and try again
8) If that does not work try going to this address http://www2.blogger.com/home
9) If that does not work try going to draft.blogger.com
10) If you use IE8 or IE9 try pressing the compatibility button (at the end of the address bar) when you're on your blog page.
11) If all those fail, try installing another browser to see if that works eg Firefox, Chrome, Opera etc
12) If you comments box on your blog is not appearing, change from Embed Comments to Popup or Full-Screen until the issue is fixed. Also try. Or you can try , but backup your blog template first, is to try resetting all your defaults. see screenshot. You do this from the Design, Edit HTML screen. (http://i54.tinypic.com/vfv883.png) This fixes about 99% of issues with the missing comments box.

Got that?

Good, because I think there's going to be a test. And I'll never remember all that.

So, if you get a personal e-mail from me rather than a blog comment, you'll know why. :)
