Funny Friday ~ What's Your Birth Number

I'm not into Numberology or anything silly like that. I just thought this was fun. Really, all of us are all these numbers at any given time in our lives, don't ya think? Anyway, what's your number? I'm a "#1", for what it's worth.

Sparky ~:)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

WHATS YOUR BIRTH NUMBER?

Once you have discovered your Birth Number. Put your number in as a comment below for us to know who we are.

Have fun! Your birth date describes who we are, what we are good at and what our inborn abilities are. It also points to what we have to learn and the challenges we are facing.

To figure out your Birth Number, add all the numbers in the Birth Date together, like in the example, until there is only one digit. A Birth Number does not prevent you from being anything you want to be, it will just color your choice differently and give you a little insight.

Example:
March 20, 1950
3 + 20 + 1950 = 1973
1 + 9 + 7 + 3 = 20
2 + 0 = 2

Keep going until you end up with a single digit number. 2 is the Birth Number to read for the birth date in the example.

Senate rejects expanded gun background check #ObamaFAIL

Praise God! Our gun rights are safe for a few more days anyway.

'Course, asswipe O'Blamer had to go into total meltdown pout when he lost. Poor baby! [playing worlds smallest violin]

Obama chastises Senate over failed gun reform amendment

Who the heck does he think he is!!!??? Plain and simple, Obama is a tyrant. Also, if the law had passed, it would have created a whole new class of "criminals" of which many of us would now be. The law would have made it illegal to even gift a gun without it being registered. To anyone. It would have been a total, absolute nightmare and not solved any criminal problems.

We've really escaped the bullet on this one.

The Eric Holder - Gosnell Abortion Clinic Connection

Since the main stream media are now a failure at reporting news, it's up to Christians on the internet to keep this story in the forefront. There's a lot more to the Gosnell story than meets the eye: It stinks on so many levels.

The wife of Eric Holder, the Attorney General of the United States, is a co-owner of the building in which Gosnell's abortion clinic was located, "Holder failed to disclose his wife’s ownership of the building. The attorney general’s financial disclosure reports for 2008 through 2011 show Holder neglected to report his wife’s co-ownership."

Eric Holder Failed to Disclose Wife’s Abortion Clinic Ties

Well, well, well!! This is just more every-day, garden variety, corruption in the Obamanation's "transparent" administration. 'Nothing to see here, folks; the media's not reporting it. Move along.'

Thank God the media are being shamed by that photo of empty media seats at the trial of this man who, if convicted, will be the biggest mass murderer in American history. Gosnell made a fortune from murdering babies and, it appears, Eric Holder's wife also benefited monetarily from the murder of live children outside their mothers' wombs.

This story is HUGE. No wonder the already mass murderer Eric Holder, the Obamanation himself, and their sycophants in the media want to pretend it's not happening.

No wonder the Left want to disarm American citizens with this bogus back ground check malarkey. Disarming us they can murder more of us who do not conform to their deviant lifestyles post abortion style.

What A Can Of Worms #gayrights

This whole "gay rights" thing is not about them not having "rights". It's about one group having power over another. It's about the tearing down and the moral decay of our society.

More aptly put is a quote that Dr. Benjamin Carson made during a television interview [emphasis mine]:

Marriage is between a man and a woman. It is a well-established fundamental pillar of society, and no group — be they gays, be they NAMBLA [North American Man/Boy Love Association], be they people who believe in beastiality — no matter what they are, they don’t get to change the definition. So it’s not something that’s against gays; it’s against anybody who wants to come along and change the fundamental definition of pillars of society.  It has significant ramifications.
If the Supreme Court states that it's OK to marry anyone or anything, it really will completely and utterly tear at the fabric of our society that has taken centuries to establish. What's to stop the legalization of incest? Or beastiality? Or the further destruction of children and families? Nothing will stand between those of us who know the difference between right and wrong and those who wish to destroy the American culture completely.

It will be just another
brought to you by the lost souls in our Supreme Court.

Quote of the Day: "Government spending is taxation." — Arthur Laffer
The so-called "sequester" will happen tomorrow (march 1st.) But federal spending will still increase, even after these "cuts." Is that what you want? To impose REAL spending cuts, Congress must...
Never again raise the debt ceiling!
We wrote Congress asking for this using our Cap the Debt campaign. We invite you to do the same.
You may borrow from or copy this letter...
I'm not panicked by "sequestration." I’m disappointed by it. The so-called "draconian" cuts will only reduce .....
* domestic spending to 2009 levels
* defense spending to 2007 levels -- which is still many times China's military budget.
And federal spending will actually INCREASE by $2.39 trillion over ten years. (http://bit.ly/ZxuEPS)
I DENY CONSENT to this increase! I demand immediate, real, and lasting cuts.
Why?
Because most of what you do is MORALLY ILLEGITIMATE. Criminal.
How can I tell?
Because you would call me a criminal if I did them.
* I can't kill except in self-defense; but you murder constantly.
* I can't hold my neighbors against their will because I dislike what they ingest; but you do it.
* I can't run a Ponzi scheme like Social Security.
* I can't threaten violence against people to fund my activities the way you do.
* I can't threaten violence to make businesses operate the way I prefer, but your unelected "regulators" do.
ALSO...
* I can't counterfeit currency, but the Federal Reserve does.
* I can't borrow money forever, but you think you can.
The debt ceiling "deadline" is May 18. Don’t raise it. Maintain it. That will balance the budget instantly, with NO dire consequences. *You'll still have enough to pay the troops and entitlements.
* But you'll have to repeal wasteful, criminal, immoral laws and programs.
* And make deep cuts to the bloated, corrupt, imperial Pentagon.
You won't do this, of course. You'll claim you favor reducing the deficit, or fiscal responsibility, or some pie-in-the-sky balanced budget amendment, but only so you can avoid taking real action, like refusing to raise the debt ceiling.
But that's okay too. Your continued devotion to criminality will serve as another example to support the message I'm sharing with my friends and neighbors. More and more people are seeing the illegitimacy of what you do.
Your institution must conform to basic moral axioms like the Golden Rule and the Zero Aggression Principle. You must stop initiating force to get your way. Do this soon, or the people will have to institute new forms of government. Either way, justice will prevail.
END LETTER
You can send your letter using DownsizeDC.org's Educate the Powerful System.
You can support the Educate the Powerful System using our secure contribution form.
Thank you for your participation. Remember to share your letter with interested friends. You can awaken them to the violence and criminality inherent in the system.

Buying Up The Time ~ Two Minutes With The Bible #GoodFriday

Buying Up The Time

by Pastor Cornelius R. Stam
Printer Friendly Version

Nineteen hundred years ago Paul wrote to his fellow- believers in the vicinity of Ephesus: “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming [Lit., buying up] the time, because the days are evil” (Eph. 5:15,16). Those were indeed evil days, when a wicked tyrant ruled the Roman Empire, when Messiah had been rejected, not only in incarnation, but in resurrection, and Christianity was fighting a life-and-death battle to penetrate the prevailing pagan darkness with the light of God’s grace. Surely Paul never dreamed that the dispensation of grace would continue for more than nineteen hundred years. He expected the Lord to come at any time to recall His ambassadors and bring the day of grace to a close. Hence the urgency of his appeal to be “buying up the time, because the days are evil.”

But if Paul had reason to suspect that the day of grace would soon be brought to a close, we today have greater reason to think so. Now that the light of the gospel has been brought to Europe, America and many other parts of the world, men are turning their backs on it. Only a small minority of even Christendom truly believe the Bible and know the Christ it presents — and how very few know the riches of His grace!

Meanwhile our governments, our educational institutions and our social systems are becoming ever more godless. The result? The newspapers, radio and TV — even a trip downtown to any fair-sized city, will tell us all we need to know. Once again “the days are evil” and the Lord’s coming for His own seems imminent. There is still much talk about lasting peace and prosperity, but no thoughtful person believes that we are headed in that direction. Rather the world appears to be heading straight toward the prophesied “day of wrath.”

What a comfort it is to the believer, then, to know that “God hath not appointed us unto wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us…” (I Thes. 5:9,10). “For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed” and “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:11,13).

To the Reader:
Some of our Two Minutes articles were written many years ago by Pastor C. R. Stam for publication in newspapers. When many of these articles were later compiled in book form, Pastor Stam wrote this word of explanation in the Preface:

"It should be borne in mind that the newspaper column, Two Minutes With the Bible, has now been published for many years, so that local, national and international events are discussed as if they occurred only recently. Rather than rewrite or date such articles, we have left them just as they were when first published. This, we felt, would add to the interest, especially since our readers understand that they first appeared as newspaper articles."

We hope that you'll agree that while some of the references in these articles are dated, the spiritual truths taught therein are timeless.

Starbucks Does Not Support Traditional Marriage

Has most of the corporate world gone totally INSANE?! Now Starbucks doesn't want the business of people who believe in traditional marriage.
Breaking News From The TEA Party: Starbucks moves even farther left and tells traditional marriage supporters we don't want your business.

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz just said at their annual meeting that If you support traditional marriage, we don't want your business. He told a shareholder to sell his shares if he supported traditional marriage and didn't like Starbucks stance against it. So let's get this straight. If you support the 5000 year old tradition that marriage is between one man and one woman, you can't buy shares in his far left radical company that sells designer $7.00 Grande Decaf Lattes? Done! I'll take a Chick Fil-A and their 99 cent coffee instead.

Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

Ephesians 6:12 - "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

And The Rain Came Tumbling Down

It started raining late last night and didn't let up until midday. It's rained so much I keep humming the kids song "... and the rain came a'tumblin' down." Our area has been suffering from a miniature drought since about 1993. Even though it's a lot at one time and now the dirt roads are messy, the rain is very welcome. Maybe we can ride in a day or two ... or three.

The rain gauge is not exactly accurate. I estimate we actually received a little over 5 inches.

Wow.

I gotta go check all the ditches too. We have needed more rain so badly!

I hope everyone is having a blessed Sunday too.

"and the rain came down, and the streams came, and the winds blew and fell upon that house, and it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock."  [Matthew 7:25]

Kiss Me, I'm Irish #SaintPatricksDay

I am mostly of Irish descent. There are also a lot of Scottish, Wales and English folks, with one in the woodpile on my Sweat family side. Like most Americans I can truly say I'm a Heinz 57. (Not to be confused with Obama's 57 States). :\ My Irish family are the Moore (of the Clan O'More), McMahan, Maloy (O'Molloy), Young, etc. of "wiregrass" Georgia*. But no kisses necessary, just have a grand day me lads and lasses!

My Irisheyes website.

*"Wiregrass" Georgia is so named for the wiregrass, a warm weather grass, that is so prolific here. It includes the southern most part of Georgia and extends into southern Alabama and northern Florida.

Watch For Comet PanSTARRS In The Twilight

I really enjoy sitting on the back porch and looking into the night sky. Living in the country the skies are inky black with little sparkley stars from one end to the other. [Ok, so I'm technically challenged ... ha ha] The 'heaven's' are truly a wonder to see. It's just part of God's miracle of creation. Tonight be sure to look in the Northern Hemisphere for the comet C/2011 L4. There's only a few nights (March 12th to 18th) it will be visible to the naked eye. Pretty cool.

More here or here.

Dead Faith ~ Two Minutes With The Bible

Dead Faith
by Pastor Cornelius R. Stam

Nothing in the Bible is stated more clearly or with greater emphasis than the blessed Pauline revelation of justification by grace, through faith, without works.
Romans 4:5: “To him that worketh not, but believeth…his faith is counted for righteousness”. Ephesians 2:8,9: “For by grace are ye saved, through faith…it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast”. Titus 3:5: “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us”.
Yet James states, just as clearly that “faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone” (Jas.2:17). He challenges professing believers: “Show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith BY my works” (Ver.18), and declares that “by works a man is justified and not by faith only” (Ver.24), since “faith without works is dead”.

Some have imagined a contradiction here, while actually there is none. There is a dispensational distinction, for to Paul had been committed “the dispensation of the grace of God” (Eph.3:1,2). His was “the preaching of the cross” (ICor.1:18), offering salvation by grace, through faith alone, to all who would trust Christ as Saviour.

James, on the other hand, was an apostle of the kingdom, proclaiming the kingdom rights of Christ and offering a changed way of life on earth which had already been experienced by the disciples in Judaea (Acts 2:44-47; 4:32-35).
Hence with James the emphasis is on works, not because good works can save or even help to save, but because true faith inevitably bears fruit and we can judge true faith only by the fruit it bears. Our Lord said: “By their fruits ye shall know them”. Hence James’ epistle abounds with such phraseology as, “ye see”, “show me”, “I will show you”, etc.

What we must be careful to remember is that according to both Paul and James, faith comes first, then good works. Faith is the root, good works the fruit. The absence of fruit indicates that the root is dead, that while there may be an intellectual assent, there is no true heart faith, and “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb.11:6).

The source of justification is grace; the basis, Calvary; the means, faith; and the evidence, works. Think this through; accept God’s grace and trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord. He will cause you to produce good fruit.

Obama The Drama Queen

Seems that the Oscars missed someone Sunday evening: our very own resident Drama-Queen-In-Chief. Read more about the Sequester [yawn] created by Obama at Fox News: Best Actor in a Drama: Barack Obama

Rainy Night In Georgia

The Southeast has been [clearing throat] enjoying a great deal of rain since yesterday. We have had so much rain ... I know "How much rain have you had?!" Well that guy down the road is building a boat. Silly man. We've had so much rain, that even the bugs are complaining and want to come inside.

Ewww! [ha ha]

I'd much rather be riding! But since weather does not permit such frivolity, Sweetie and I are staying inside, cleaning the humble abode, and watching Fox News as the Republicans slowly cave to our newly appointed self-professed monarchy with his phony The World Is Coming To An End sequester mess. It's not enough cuts in my never-to-be-humble opinion. I say let all the Federal programs take cuts including the military. We are giving them way too much funding if we can afford to invade any country that we care to vilify at the moment. If we would bring them all home, including from Europe, the Philippians and Japan, look how much more money we'd have, how much lower our taxes would be and how much safer our borders would be. But nooooooo! That makes too much sense. So, onward we go towards financial destruction, real or imagined. [fingers in ears and humming]

Anyway, we are cleaning our own dirty stables. I try to clean the house well enough so that if Better Homes Than Yours shows up, it's an instant photo shoot.

What are all my bloggy friends up to today?

Two Minutes With The Bible ~ What The World Needs

What The World Needs
by Pastor Cornelius R. Stam

Strange, is it not, that when men are successful, they generally credit themselves liberally for their success but when things go wrong they begin to blame others — even God.

The writer does not have up-to-date information about two particular plots of ground in Moscow, but some years ago one of these was a beautiful garden, the other a patch of weeds. Above each there was a sign. Over the one: “This plot is cared for by the United Soviet Socialist Republic,” over the other: “This plot is cared for by God”!

Evidently the atheistic Soviets who hatched this “bright idea” did not stop to think that only God could produce the beautiful flowers in the USSR plot. All their watering and cultivating would have been in vain except for the God they deny.

As to the other plot, they probably did not even know that even in Eden God put the garden in man’s charge “to dress it and to keep it” (Gen. 2:15), and later, when man sinned, God said to Adam, “Cursed is the ground for thy sake” (Gen. 3:17). This is why the Soviets must employ a gardener to control the weeds in even their garden! How wrong and foolish, then, for man ever to blame God for anything that goes wrong for him or causes him trouble!

Actually, when I have been asked: “If God is a God of love, why does He allow all this trouble and misery, and all this wickedness?” I have replied: “That’s easy. When God sent His Son into this world offering peace and righteousness and prosperity they cried: ‘Away with Him’ and nailed Him to a cross. If the Bible is true, and in this case it has surely proved to be true, how can this world expect peace while they still reject the Prince of Peace?”

Two Things Our Government Fears

Two things our government fears --
self-defense against tyranny
and knowledge from God our Saviour that it is tyranny

Obama thinks "clinging to guns and religion" is a bad thing. I say if we had more of both we'd be better off as a society and for eternal salvation. But I'm not a worthless bottomfeeding community organizer, so, what do I know?

"Fear the government that fears your guns" -- Thomas Jefferson

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline." -- Proverbs 1:7 (NIV)

"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." -- Romans 10:9 (NIV)

Funny Friday ~ Abbott And Costello Math

So how can over 873,000 people come off the unemployment rolls when there were only a little over 114,000 jobs created?

Below is a transcript what that conversation would be between two eminent economists discussing this very question in Obama math.

COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America.

ABBOTT: Good Subject... Terrible Times... It's 7.8%.

COSTELLO: That many people are out of work?

ABBOTT: No, that's 14.7%.

COSTELLO: You just said 7.8%.

ABBOTT: 7.8% Unemployed.

COSTELLO: Right 7.8% out of work.

ABBOTT: No, that's 14.7%.

COSTELLO: Okay, so it's 14.7% unemployed.

ABBOTT: No, that's 7.8%.

COSTELLO: WAIT A MINUTE ... Is it 7.8% or 14.7%?

ABBOTT: 7.8% are unemployed ... 14.7% are out of work.

COSTELLO: If you are out of work you are unemployed.

ABBOTT: No, Congress said you can't count the "Out of Work" as the unemployed.  You have to look for work to be unemployed.

COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK !!

ABBOTT: No, you miss his point.

COSTELLO: What point?

ABBOTT: Someone who doesn't look for work can't be counted with those who look for work.  It wouldn't be fair.

COSTELLO: To whom?

ABBOTT: The unemployed.

COSTELLO: But ALL of them are out of work.

ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work.
Those who are out of work gave up looking and if you give up,
you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.

COSTELLO: So if you're off the unemployment roles that would
count as less unemployment?

ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down ... Absolutely!

COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you
don't look for work?

ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes down.
That's how they get it to 7.8%.
Otherwise it would be 14.7%.
Our govt. doesn't want you to read about 14.7% unemployment.

COSTELLO: That would be tough on those running for reelection.

ABBOTT: Absolutely.

COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you.  That means there are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?

ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.

COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?

ABBOTT: Correct.

COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?

ABBOTT: Bingo.

COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down, and the easier of the two is to have people stop looking for work.

ABBOTT: Now you're thinking like an Economist.

COSTELLO: I don't even know what the heck I just said!

ABBOTT: Now you're thinking like Obama.

Revolutions We've Missed

This link here leads to an article at PJ Media. Victor Hanson writes about the revolutions we've missed. I think Mr. Hanson has been hearing me yell at the TV in the evenings! Our Republic is dead. The warm & fuzzy society we all grew up with has become cold & prickly. We are in decline. Even though I enjoy most modern technology I have felt for some time that it would be our downfall.

I really hate it when I'm right.

Have You Heard? ~ Two Minutes With The Bible

Have you heard?
by Pastor Cornelius R. Stam
Berean Bible Society
“If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward” (Eph. 3:2).
Could it be that those to whom Paul addressed his Ephesian letter had not yet heard that God had committed to him “the dispensation of grace”?

Next to the death and resurrection of Christ, the conversion of Paul and his commission to proclaim “the gospel of the grace of God” was the greatest event in history . The apostles at Jerusalem had recognized the importance of Paul’s part in the divine program. They themselves had at first been sent by Christ into “all the world,” yet in Gal. 2:9 we find James, Peter and John publicly shaking hands with Paul in a solemn agreement that he should henceforth be the apostle to the nations.

Could it be that some twelve years later, when he wrote the Ephesian letter, there were any who professed the name of Christ who had not heard of Paul’s special place in the program of God as the apostle of grace? Little wonder his words “if ye have heard” carry with them a touch of reproach.

It is possible, of course, that there were some among them, but recently brought into the Church, who had not heard, but what seems utterly incredible is that there should be even one believer at this late date who has not heard that after Christ and His kingdom had been rejected and the world was ripe for prophesied judgment to fall, God intervened, saving Saul, His chief enemy on earth, and sending him forth with “the good news of the grace of God.”

This good news is based, of course, upon the fact that since Christ was the spotless Lamb of God, His death is accepted by God as full satisfaction for the sinner. Thus Paul, by divine inspiration, declares that believers are “justified freely by His [God's] grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 3:24).

Facebook Billionaire Pays No Taxes And Gets Refund

From Chicks On The Right:
Have you seen a lot of sites/pages shrieking over the past couple of days about Facebook not having to pay taxes and in fact getting a tax REFUND even though they profited over a billion dollars? Why be mad at Facebook? They are taking advantage, as they have every right to, of ridiculous tax incentives that our Representatives and Senators enacted. Blame the tax system. Blame the tax code. Shriek at Congress and the Senate. Demand tax reform. And then ask yourself, "Why isn't Obama calling out Facebook like he does the oil companies, who he's railed against for doing the same thing?"
The refund is $429 million dollars. And I have to agree with what COTR said. But why, oh why, won't our so-called 'President' or Senate say something about the corrupt tax system involving one of their rich boy friends.

Hmmm.

I think I just answered my own question.

Our country needs tax reform badly. It's so unfair how taxes are handled now. Flat tax is the only logical answer.

[More about the story here and a fluff piece here.]

OMG! Obama Drinks Water!

Just think, according to the left mouthpiece Lame Stream Media if this picture had been in circulation before the election he never would have been re-elected. This would have ruined his political career.

Disgrace I tell you, disgrace!

Let's Talk About The Evil Rich

What can you buy for $1.4 billion a year?
You can buy the most luxurious and costly self proclaimed royal presidency in history.
Taxpayers spent $1.4 billion dollars on everything from staffing, housing, flying and entertaining President Obama and his family last year, according to the author of a new book on taxpayer-funded presidential perks.

In comparison, British taxpayers spent just $57.8 million on the royal family.

Author Robert Keith Gray writes in Presidential Perks Gone Royal that Obama isn’t the only president to have taken advantage of the expensive trappings of his office. But the amount of money spent on the first family, he argues, has risen tremendously under the Obama administration and needs to be reined in.

Gray told The Daily Caller that the $1.4 billion spent on the Obama family last year is the total cost of the presidency, factoring the cost of the biggest staff in history at the highest wages ever, a 50 percent increase in the numbers of appointed czars and an Air Force One running with the frequency of a scheduled air line.

Perspective: $1.4 billion is equal to spending seven times Mitt Romney's entire net-worth every year. If Romney had to pay for Barack and Michelle's lifestyle this year, he would have been bankrupt by the third week in February.

Now, can we please get back to talking about the evil, freeloading rich, who didn’t build anything?

If anyone is listening, I am taking a short break from the blog unless something really interesting happens.

Nullification Of Unconstitutional Laws Encouraged By States

That Painful Feeling We All Share Is Real

I found this article in our local paper this morning and had to share. The writer expresses My Thoughts Exactly. My Thoughts noted thusly: [ ].
Nullification Encouraged

The Augusta Chronicle
Published: Waycross Journal-Herald, Monday, January 28, 2013

You may have heard the word "nullification" bandied about recently. It's basically a fancy word for ignoring a law.

Juries sometimes do it, if they think enforcement of a law will result in an injustice. [Actually, that's encouraged.] Merriam-Webster defines nullification as "the action of a state impeding or attempting to prevent the operation and enforcement within its territory of a law of the United States."

And now, increasing numbers of sheriffs and others across the country are publicly saying they will engage in nullification if faced by federal gun or health care laws they find unconstitutional. Ignoring laws is rarely a good thing. We'd say never – but we're reminded of Rosa Parks' and other civil rights icons' peaceful defiance of the immoral laws and customs of segregation.

An increasing number of folks are no less convinced that Washington is trampling on other civil rights. [Yah, think?!]

Sheriffs in Idaho, Oregon and Texas have announced their intent not to go along with expected gun control laws. Other officials have said they won't enforce the health care law. A state representative in Tennessee wants to make it a crime to enforce gun or ammunition bans in that state. And several hundred gathered at the South Carolina capitol recently for a "Nullify Obamacare" rally. They were promised efforts by several state officials to block "federal encroachment."

There's a proud tradition of states' rights in South Carolina – exemplified not that long ago by the light bulb. When federal law began phasing out production of the incandescent light bulb, South Carolina lawmakers passed "The Light Bulb Freedom of Choice Act" to allow for its production and sale within the state, which Washington can't prevent.

But nullification has rarely seen this much favor since the Civil War, and may only gain steam if Washington continues down the path of trying to run [i.e. micro-manage] everyone's lives.

Washington may have no one but itself to blame for the rise of the nullification movement – particularly the Obama administration, which has set the standard for ignoring the law.

It was this administration, after all, that decided not to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act. Even though the "Dream Act" can't pass Congress, Mr. Obama "enacted" it via executive order – announcing that his administration would not deport illegal aliens who came here as minors. There is no such exception in the law.

His administration also announced that marijuana crimes would not be a "priority" – again, picking and choosing which laws to enforce.

When it appeared the defense industry might have to issue layoff notices to workers because of impending "sequestration" cuts just before the November election, the Obama administration encouraged contractors to ignore the law that seemed to require the notices. [Two can play at that game, Mr. "President".]

The Obama administration also tried to block enforcement of state anti-voter-fraud laws last year.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Senate has failed to pass a budget as required by law the past four years – and the Obama administration has announced it won't have a federal budget ready by the statutory deadline.

We don't endorse the ignoring of laws. But if there's a growing sentiment of defiance toward enforcement of federal laws in the land, Washington can't exactly throw stones.

It has perfected the art.

Amen to that!

And isn't it great To remember Who is really in control, and that; "the Word of the Lord endures forever." (1 Peter 1:25)

Abortion Murders More People Than Guns

The American Thinker has an excellent article by Peter Heck, "An Honest And Horrifying Admission"
One of the main reasons I have been telling people in speeches, in writing, and on my radio program that I truly believe we are living in the midst of the generation that will end abortion in America is embodied in Williams' piece. The anti-life left can no longer hide behind some murky confusion of what's happening in the womb. They can no longer candy-coat what they condone. They can no longer pretend there is some great mystery to when human life begins.
I concur! Life begins at conception. Period. End of statement. Even for those who don't believe in our blessed Lord and God have to acknowledge that abortion is the murder of another human being.

I say we ban the REAL threat to human life: politicians who don't believe in the sanctity of human life and abortion clinics.

Sounds like a plan?

Obama Appointments Are Unconstitutional

Poor widdle baby ...

A little good news today concerning our illegal President:

"In an embarrassing setback for President Barack Obama, a federal appeals court ruled Friday that he violated the Constitution [again] in making recess appointments last year, a decision that would severely curtail the president's ability to bypass the Senate to fill administration vacancies."

"If the ruling stands, it means that hundreds of decisions issued by the board over more than a year would be invalid. It also would leave the five-member labor board with just one validly appointed member, effectively shutting it down. The board is allowed to issue decisions only when it has at least three sitting members." [link]

Looks like REAL hope hasn't been banned after all! Have a good weekend y'all. I know I will.

Still Think Banning Something Makes The World Safer?

Then watch this video. It is AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH that the Libtards don't want to share. Banning firearms, or anything, only CAUSES MORE CRIME. Whaddya say, let's stop all these undeclared wars, including the one made up by the Fed's on "drugs", allow all law abiding citizens to arm themselves at all times, get the government out of our lives again and truly make the world safer.

It's What's For Supper

I don't like to cook. It's definately not my cup of tea. Fortunately, my husband is such a wonderful cook he could be a gourmet chef. So, whenever my husband goes off to visit some of his family (long story, don't ask) [grin] he always fixes me a lot of nourishing food so I won't gobble on hot dogs and cereal.

This is what he fixed me this time: pot roast with chopped onions, small red potatoes, carrots, garlic cloves, spices and peas.

This thing has been slow cooking since about 9 this morning.

The aroma has been whafting through the house all day and it's driving me nuts! [ha ha]

Beef.

It's What's For Supper.

There's Someone More Dangerous Than Guns

And, continuing in the same vein of yesterdays post that more people have died from other types of violence not involving guns.

Drone Strikes Kill Maim And Traumatize Too Many Civilians, U.S. Study Says

Many of those killed have been innocent children and two of them where American citizens. Murdered without warning or a trial.

Obama is nothing less than a Seriel Killer. In a suit. With armed guards. And apparently there's no stopping him. The real assault weapon danger is our out-of-control 'president' and his henchmen.

A God-given Right To Self-Defense

GRIZZWELLS® by Bill Schor

I've been waiting for inspiriation (and, yeah, a good cool down on my part) before commenting on the illegal Obama's continued attack on our Second Amendment Rights.

I am so sick of this administration and the brain dead idiots that voted for him. Obama has already pretty much destroyed the First Amendment (Freedom of Speech). So I knew eventually something would happen where he would try to remove the Second Amendment from our list of rights. He is now blaming inanimate objects (weapons) for real or imagined violence. This entire Administration is continuing to use the Constitution for toilet paper. Obama hates us, you know. He wants all American ideals dead and rebuilt in his hatefilled image.

First off, it's a fact that there are more people injured or killed by Energy Drinks than by gun violence. The statistics have doubled since 2007. In 2008 alone, there were 16,000 documented incidents.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A new government survey suggests the number of people seeking emergency treatment after consuming energy drinks has doubled nationwide during the past four years, the same period in which the supercharged drink industry has surged in popularity in convenience stores, bars and on college campuses.

From 2007 to 2011, the government estimates the number of emergency room visits involving the neon-labeled beverages shot up from about 10,000 to more than 20,000. Most of those cases involved teens or young adults, according to a survey of the nation’s hospitals released late last week by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

Source: Waycross Journal-Herald, Wednesday, January 16, 2013

Continuing with that line of thinking, how about the fact that there is ALWAYS a death in an abortion clinic but since that's sancitioned by the government and one of the Left's sacred cows, that is never mentioned.

Also, there were more fatalities in auto accidents in 2010 (32,885 people) than by gun violence. Source: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

And the comparisions can go on and on and one. Some not-so-well-meaning people need to calm down about "the gun issue" and look at the facts before giving up the right to defend themselves.

Ok, so I didn't cool down all the way. But, why should I?! And why should you?! This issue is extremely important. Passion for truth and justice is needed by good people to stop the tsunami of communism in our country. Here in the South, where we are still relatively free, gun and ammo sales are through the roof. Even we have taken steps to beef up our "stash". I hope everyone else is doing the same. It may be one of many important steps to insure that we preserve our God-given right to self defense. Everyone has the right to not be molested any bad guys, even elected bad guys. It is a God-given right to employ lethal force if necessary to protect the life of yourself and others.

Country Surprises In Pictures

Living in the country, sometimes one sees all manner of nature. Today, driving down a frequented nearby road, I spied a sleeping Barred Owl on a branch. He was a few feet off the road, so, I managed to snap this photo from inside the vehicle.

I made sure to not disturb his beauty rest.

Below, I saw this long ago abandoned barn on Scuffletown Road on our cold, sunny, winters day and had to stop and take a photo.

When I see it I wonder, "Why is the barn abandoned? Are the owners long gone?"

My hubby snapped the photo below of a pond, also on Scuffletown Road. Scuffletown is located in Pierce County, Georgia.

I always see God's handywork in nature. It's His signature on His beautiful creation.

"And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” Genesis 1:20 ESV

Thank you God for reminding me who You are and who I am in your creation.

North To Alaska

Alaska was purchased in 1867 from Russia, it is our 49th State. With as many television shows that have premiered recently, you'd think it was our ONLY State! Has anyone else noticed how many Alaska themed shows were on last season? I counted at least a dozen:

Alaska: The Last Frontier - [link] One of our very favorites. I’m glad to see the show has been renewed this season. It’s primarily about the Kilcher family who live in an isolated community near Homer. They are subsistence hunters. This is one of our favorite shows.

Alaska’s Artic Wildlife - [link] Lots of pretty pictures of wildlife but boring. Until I looked it up for this blog post, I didn‘t realize it was originally aired in 1997.

Alaska Magazine TV - [link] - Never watched it. It appears it was more pretty pictures.

Alaska Marshal - [link] - I haven’t had the opportunity to view it but the website states they “track down dangerous fugitives”. Sounds exciting.

Alaska State Troopers - [link] - I don’t care for this one because it shows the underbelly of living in the far North. Alaska has a lot of ridiculous laws thanks to the criminal tendencies of the Indians and Eskimos.

Bering Sea Gold - [link] - A good show but none of the featured personalities have any admirable traits.

Buying Alaska - [link] - From their website, “ … looks at properties that feature a range of unique offerings, including the ability to hunt and fish from the back deck, to extreme seclusion. But living in Alaska also comes with disadvantages, including no running water, electricity, indoor bathrooms, or access roads, as well as run ins with bears.” Boy, they’re not kidding about the bears either! They are literally everywhere and so are moose (equally dangerous). It’s advisable to always be armed in Alaska. I especially like this one because I enjoy looking at houses and undeveloped land. It’s fun to see how others live. I get ideas for how to improve our little home that way too.

Flying Wild Alaska - [link] - This show featured the Tweto family. The father, Jim, moved to Alaska in the 1970’s, married a local girl and started his own bush pilot business. It’s now a multi-million dollar enterprise. I think he sold the business or was going to sell it by the end of last season. Sadly, the show is off the air but it was one of our favorite Alaska themed shows.

Gold Rush - [link] - A very popular show. This season is especially interesting. We have our favorite ‘characters’, of course, and are rooting for them to get the Motherload. All the guys on Todd Hoffman’s crew seem like decent, hardworking people but my favorite personality is Dave Turin. He works hard and has good business sense. I think they would be lost without his dedication. The worst person on Gold Rush is the 17 year old Parker Schnabel. He’s a foul-mouthed, temperamental, hot head that will either end up murdered or in jail. He was even recorded saying nasty things about the Producer (not a smart move). Mama didn’t spank him enough growing up, in my opinion.

Ice Road Truckers - [link] - The program follows HGV drivers as they cross frozen lakes and dangerously-thin ice in temperatures of minus 30 degrees in Canada and Alaska. This one was good until they dropped Lisa or she left. It’s no longer on my DVR list.

The Alaska Experiment - I never could get the gist of this show. I think someone was dropping select volunteers off in the vast Yukon wilderness and they had to get back to civilization by a certain time. I found that boring.

Yukon Men - [link] - From their website, “In one of the most remote Alaskan villages, every day is a fight for survival.” And that’s what they do: fight for survival by subsistence hunting, while putting up with the BS laws passed by the government. It’s a good show.

I have no desire to live in Alaska, especially after watching all these shows. It must truly be a beautiful place during the very brief summer. They breed mosquitoes the size of Buicks and the seemingly never ending winter (8 months) would be too much for this native Florida girl. I would be on drugs for sure! Anybody else enjoy Alaska based shows?

You Spend 16 Trillion, And Whaddya Get? Another Day Older And You're Deeper In Debt.

Obama Supporters Going For A Stroll

I can't really tell by the news accounts, but I think the House Republicans are holding firm on Fiscal Cliff budget for more tax cuts? Like the school yard bully he is, Obama has threaten Speaker Boehner with the Lame Stream Media, saying that he would "tell on Boehner" if he didn't give in to all his demands. "So, what else is new," would be my response. If asked. And House Majority Leader Eric Cantor apparently is opposing the Senate bill in its current form. 'Course, the Senate has shot down the budget from the House for four years! HELLO!! At any rate, if passed, it will be the first so-called budget in over four years. I sure miss having a real President.

And some loser by the name of Louis Michael Seidman with the now openly communist New York Times thinks the US Constitution is "evil" and should be abolished: Let's Give Up On The Constitution. No wonder so many yankees are not saved. We really are two countries. There needs to be secession from the Union by the South and Mid-west! The Northeast lacks teachings in self-reliance, the spirit of individualism, and the Judeo-Christian values that support marriage and family! Such values have been driven out by a government that wants the people to depend on it rather than on themselves, their families and their faith. The States of Maine and Maryland are now allowing the mentally ill sodomites to pretend to be married. Lord have mercy.

Oh, yeah, the New Year is starting off with loads of ... uh ... 'love' from our government. Stay tuned folks.

"Saint Peter don't ya call me 'cause I can't go. I owe my soul to the Government Store ..."
