Yesterday Is Dead And Gone

I'm sitting here, staring at the computer screen, wondering what to do next. I've got scads of housewifely chores and garden tasks to do, but I can't seem to get the lead outta my butt today. So, I thought it might help to pen these words. If this is too boring, don't feel like it must be read. I understand.

This week has been one for the Red Bird Acres history books.

Now, I don't consider myself a "good Christian" but with God's help, I try to do good things for other people, within financial and physical limitations, of course. Anything you say bad about me would be absolutely true and then some. Got lots of character flaws that God and I are working on together (I hate to tell Him but He has His work cut out for Him). I've done some things that no human will probably ever know about, for which I am deeply full of shame for and wish beyond measure I could go back and change it. I would. In my more recent history, I've angered unnecessarily two blogging associates which I wish I could take back. But that doesn't stop me from telling others about the love of Jesus Christ. HE is the One who is perfect. HE is the One deserving praise.

With that said ...

The neighbor I have discussed briefly here, Linda, died suddenly this week. I believe she passed either late Sunday evening or early Monday morning but I didn't find her body until yesterday around 3 PM. The Coroner has yet to determine time and cause of death. 'Course, "we all know" what the cause was: a prescription narcotic drug overdose from years of abuse.

Poor thing. Poor tortured soul. Why do people throw their lives away like it's yesterdays rubbish? I don't understand that way of thinking because I love life so much. I can't imagine wanting to end it or be so zonked all the time that I can't ride my motorcycle safey. I love Christ and look forward to being with him forever but do intend to fight to the end. Got lots to do, you know, lots to see ... lots of people to annoy. [wink]

I try witnessing for Christ more. I talked to Linda about being saved shortly after her husband, Doc, passed away on June 7th. She professed Christ verbally, so, I let it go at that with a "ask me if you have any questions" understanding. Oh, and I left her a Holy Bible for reference. I've been trying to be bolder for Christ.

Hubby and I and a few other neighbors have also gone the extra mile for Linda since Doc's passing. We've all taken turns mowing her enormous lawn, picking her up at the hospital after a bout with the drugs, carrying the mail up to the house, bought food for and cared for her six smelly hounds. We tried to help her get the financial side straightened out (my personal expertise, I'm good at putting out paper fires -- you accounting people know of what I speak) but she would not let me in to help. Linda kept complaining she was broke, but wouldn't let me go through her finances with her to assess the situation. I think I could have helped.

I'm not bragging just laying the groundwork for why I was being a nosy neighbor this week.

After three days of calling Linda and getting no response. I rode my little golf cart over to her property and checked on the dogs and mail situation. The mail box was brimming with mail (uh, oh, I thought) and the dogs had no food! Linda never neglected her dogs, even on her benders. The temperatures here have been consistently in the high 90's with 80 percent or more of humidity. The air has been really nasty. All her windows where open and one down stairs had the screen yanked out forcibly. The doors were locked, so I couldn't get in. "Crap" I thought. She must be on a tear this week from the drugs. I called, and hollered, and drove all over her property thinking that maybe she'd wandered out somewhere and collapsed. Not a creature was stirring, except those six smelly hounds.

I drove back to the house deep in thought and decided to call the Sheriff. I hate butting into people's lives but this might be important. I'm such a private person and would want others to respect my "I vant to be alone, dawlink'" if that ever happened. Turns out, the Sheriff, Richard, knew all about her and her little "problem". He dispatched a Deputy and nothing was found. They figured, well, Miss Linda is hiding in her house again (apparently this was a common event, I didn't know that).

Thursday morning I called again, "What's going on Richard? Have you found her?" Richard said, "Hmmm ... Ok, we'll bust in the house this time." And he asked if I would be there in case she gave them trouble. Our little county doesn't have female officers and a woman should be there for any arrests or whatever. I agree. No problem. Hopped in the golf cart again and met the two Deputies at Linda's house. After a moment's discussion, it was decided that one of the Deputies would shinny through the open downstairs window and let us in.

I walked in hollerin' "Linda! Sheriff's office is here. We're in your house. Come out of hiding dear ..." and proceeded to climb the stairs. The Deputy in front of me turned around and said, "I found her. She's at the top of the stairs .... dead. Call EMT's and the Coroner." I felt like someone had grabbed my throat and wouldn't let go. Deputy remarked I shouldn't come up because of the advanced decay, so, I turned around and stood in the living room on the brink of weeping. The other Deputy was also so kind, he kept asking if I was OK. "Yeah, I'm good." I've seen dead people before and I'm an avid hunter. I know what death looks like.

So, I did a good thing, right?

Therefore why am I'm feeling like a failure this morning?

I lay awake last night, sobbing gently, tossing and turning, aching all over, couldn't sleep again. I don't trust feelings because feelings will lie to us. Feelings get us into trouble 9 times out of 10. I try to rely more on facts. This event has me in a quandary. If I can put my finger on it I would say: I guess *I feel* bad that she laid over there for 3 or so days with no one to care or be with her. And *I feel* like we have unfinished business and she left without saying goodbye. We were going to help her, together we could fight this thing.

I need to let go of the *I feel* and go with the facts. Right?

Linda gave up a long time ago and we just came in on the tail end of the story. So sad.

Well, I hope I've learned some valuable personality lessons too, about myself and others. I hope I'll use this new knowledge to be a better Soldier for Christ and a better friend. To Him be the glory, forever and ever. Amen. Thanks for listening.

I feel like I'm in the middle of the cheesy sci-fi movie from the 70's "Soylent Green"!!! Only this time our country is being run by black gangsters gone wild.

Hudson Motorcar Company

We were watching the Disney movie "Cars" on DVD last night, and one of the 'characters' in the animated movie is a Hudson Hornet.

That got me to wondering about the Hudson Motorcar Company. Could the company have been created by a relative?

It turns out there really was a 1951 Hudson Hornet and it was indeed fast ... fast for it's day, anyway!

"In 1909, four former associates of Ransom E. Olds (Roy Chapin, Howard Coffin, Frederick Bezner and James Brady) began building a line of cars that became known for value, performance and solid engineering.

Each of the founders put up $1,500, not much by auto industry standards, even in those days. The big bankroller was Joseph L. Hudson, department store magnate who invested $90,000 in the new motor-car venture. Hudson's portion was by far the largest investment. Roy Chapin, who emerged as the leader of Hudson Motor Car Co. and whose son, Roy Jr., would later run American Motors, the result of a merger of Nash-Kelvinator and Hudson, prudently decided to name the car after the man who put up most of the money.

The Hudson Motor Car Co. came to life in the winter of 1909, with a total capitalization of $100,000. First factory was that of the Aerocar, a venture that had gone under. Chapin and Coffin both were "graduates" of Ransom Olds' Olds Motor Works. They subsequently had built the Thomas-Detroit and the Chalmers-Detroit before launching Hudson."

In the 1930's Hudson was an innovator with its Essex and Terraplane lines, offering a choice of either six or eight cylinder engines. The Company was the first to use "unibody" designs. Eventually Hudson languished, merged with others and moved on to other endeavors.

After reading about the Company, I decided to study more about the man behind the money, Joseph Lowthian Hudson and his genealogy. I was curious to whether he was one of my husband's distant cousins or not.

According to other researchers, Joseph L. Hudson was born Oct. 17, 1846 in England and died Jul. 5, 1912 in England from a bout with pneumonia. He earned his money by being a Department store magnate in Detroit. He is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan. I did a little more digging and Joseph was the son of Richard Hudson (b:c1820 New Castle-Upon-Tyme, England) and wife Elizabeth Lowthian (b: c1824 England).

Joseph never married, but his brothers and sisters did. Looks like he's not one of hubby's long-lost cousins but probably back somewhere in the murky waters of history, he and hubby are related. He may be one of the "lost" direct descendants of hubby's original Gentleman Henry "Harry" HERDSON, or a brother of same, but that is beyond my expertise and current monetary situation.

Well, it was fun learning about yet another Hudson anyway and a car company I'd never paid much attention to until today.

Calling All Activists! ObamaCare May Pass The House

Since when did it become a "right" to have health care?! It is not a right, it is a priviledge.

I'm what the economists would call middle Middle Class (not upper, not lower). When I was younger, first one got an education. Those of us with ambition actually stuck out those miserable 12 years of Public School and received a cheaply printed diploma that stated as such. Then with said diploma in hand, I went out and secured the best paying job I could find with my limited skills that offered benefits. I worked my way up the corporate ladder, acquiring skills and connections along the way, through dedication and hard work. No one else did it for me. I never dreamed of asking for help from the government.

Now these evil leaders in Washington want to take more freedoms away from us. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claims to now have the votes to pass ObamaCare in House.

ObamaCare, or as I call it, ObamaSnare, is nothing more than another government run scam to take over our economy and rob us of any vestiges of freedom we have left. This is not reform either, it's a back door way to pay black reparations money and has NOTHING TO DO WITH REFORM!

Ok, you wonderful activists 'out there' whom I could just hug (I wish I could buy you all lunch, really, God bless you), it's again time to hit the e-mails, phone calls, letters, whatever to convince the 'blue dog' democrat's to vote against this bill. Please don't give up. Also, please pray extra urgently about this, as my husband and I have.

Just Call Me Money Bags

Can anyone explain this poster to me? I know, it's a military gentleman in his camo fatigues on a matching couch. But the "made of hidden and sleep" is beyond my comprehension. It's cute though, don't ya think?

That's what I need this afternoon, more sleep again. I set the alarm and arose at O'Dark Thirty to start surveying again at the Greenlawn Cemetery in nearby Waycross. This cemetery is so huge it's probably going to take me all summer to complete. What am I doing this for? Welllll ... I'm photographing all visible tombstones for genealogy research. I place all known information at a web site appropriately titled "Find A Grave". By the way, if any of y'all are ever researching family members in this little part of the world, me and several other unselfish contributors, are placing all this data on-line. Sweeeet.

On another subject. This week is turning out to be rather costly for us.

First the giant pine tree had to be removed on Monday. [$$cha-ching$$]

Then, the Hustler Zero Turning Radius mower needed three new blades in mid-season because we're not only cutting our grass but an invalid neighbors. It's also running our gasoline bill up. [sigh]

The car was due for it's 6 month oil change and my husband only uses the best grade available. He takes very good care of our chariots. No complaints there but add another [$$cha-ching$$] and a [heavier sigh].

Then, the self-same neighbor mentioned above had to be rushed to the hospital again and she asked me to take care of her five big smelly hounds. Of course, there was no food, soooo, that came out of our paycheck. [GROAN]

Can we please stop spending money NOW?! [lol]

Good news though, the stock market is up and gasoline prices are down. Also, hubby is cooking a very scrumptious smelling Boston Butt on the cooker. He's making 'pulled pork' (the odor is driving me NUTS with hunger!!). Oh, and I hear that there aren't enough votes to pass that fascist Cap and Trade bill. Wahoo!! It's not a done deal yet, but I'm feeling all "Wahoo" about it. [lol] Now if the Senate will just strike down the ObamaCare, we're cookin' with gas.

Well, I'm gonna pig out [giggle] on the pulled pork then I'm going to hide under the bed and turn off all the phones until Monday and hope nothing else needs fixing, repairing, removing or feeding.

A Recommended Website ~ HawksCafe

Our nations illustrious leaders are involved in international organizations (ad hoc, not overtly recognized) which actively carry out criminal actions. Of course, the mainstream media, except for occasionally Fox News, is not reporting any of this. Glenn Beck is telling us as much as he has time for, but I can't think of anyone else on TV that is.

I hope the following may be useful to explain some aspects of what one can see at the following recommended website.

Two men run a small but very efficient Yahoo! Group where they post hard data about our politians and others nefarious activities. The two men began to work together when they worked to discover why & how the Able Danger group was stopped from pursuing Osama Bin-Laden before 9/11. Now I have your attention! Yep. The military stopped persuing said criminal under our government's orders.

Hawks Cafe began as a news source at a legitimate web based news site called Canadian Free Press. Hawks Cafe 'broke' the story of Able Danger, because they found it, entirely on their own. The rest of the 'net world gave it a yawn and went on with the usual political football game. The two men became collaborators, and dug deeper to discover much uglier background data on left wing elite. No doubt this very serious work is archived, disseminated and read carefully by countless people, around the world thanks to their hard work and risking their lives to tell the story.

Able Danger was a US Special Forces under Southern Command, in Florida, set up to 'search or 'data mine' the open internet, in order to find Osama Bin Laden, et al, before 911. Turns out that members of the Clinton administration were stopping them because of many well connected, wealthy individuals who had illegal business dealings with Bin Laden.

The two men who run the Hawks Cafe Yahoo! Group are highly respected. One is a former Schlumberger field & research engineer with credentials & education in physics which boggle the mind. The other is a straight-up retired military fighter jock & longtime airline pilot - some 52 years military & civilian airline.

I suggest that anyone interested in getting a handle on what sort of international criminals are actually running 'the show' we see, take a look at perhaps two dozen of the posted messages on Hawks Cafe. I had a hard time at first, but don't be discouraged by the jargon, and the density of what you see. You may scan many messages and find some which are more easily understood - allowing you to begin to see which of our more famous elite are involved with the darkest of law firms, unusual alliances and overt business enterprises (all of which carry out peculiar activities). The messages posted have of necessity run in an ever-wider pattern-like a spider web which grows geometrically, as the people, activities and connections expand-over a growing territory.

It's a lot like ACORN and their nefarious activies, which, I think the 'poo' is about to hit the fan on that. At least I'm hoping that's so and will believe it when it happens. There's a group of politicians (I forget whom) are bringing corruption charges against ACORN. Good show guys! We need to pray for them that the truth will be brought to light.

The retired military/airline fellow, Field McConnell, has removed himself from his substantial family ranch in the Dakotas, to Kazakhstan, and, after reading their work for several years, I can see why. No doubt he needed to be in a place where he could hire the sort of protection he required, and a place which would allow his security people to actually defend him. If things continue as they have, all of us who believe in freedom may be moving there soon too! Hawks Cafe has exposed the very highest corruption, and they have the most powerful govenment at their beck & call.

Among the things I have seen at Hawks Cafe Group is the incredible story on how a great deal of money is raised for villainous activities by bad people. For instance, the practice of buying huge numbers of life insurance policies on unsuspecting peasants and other folks in third world countries -- who are about to be killed in civil insurrections. A nice legal game, and innocent people die. Consider that the fellows at Hawks Cafe have explained that this is how the infamous George Soros began: by buying insurance on his fellow Jews, then betraying them to the Nazis.

Neat trick.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Our Day In Pictures

We lost another giant pine tree to lightning. So, I snapped a few photos of "our tree guy" taking care of the problem of a deadly monster on the driveway. One wouldn't think it to look at them, but dead trees can be deadly. We've personally known of too many instances where people were killed by falling trees, especially in heavy winds.

So ...

The tree had to go!

It's One Of Those Days

Whatzit?
Did you ever have one of those days or weeks when you're not quite yourself?

I know, you're thinking, "Well, who are you then?" Ok, smartypants :o) I feel like our little multi-colored fellow here that appears half horse and half zebra: like I'm all upside down and backwards.

Oh, it's nothing serious ... I'm only extremely fatigued.

For some reason, I couldn't sleep last night. I had one of those evenings when I just could not power down, so, I ended up staying awake until 4 am. That's so unusual for me. Usually, I'm like a little kid and fall asleep in about 2 minutes and not wake up 'til morning (except for a bathroom break).

Boy, not last night.

So all day today my attitude has been grouchy and surly. Every little noise is driving me up the wall. Even the innocuous thing of hubby turning the pages in his new paperback book makes me want to slap a knot on his head. If I was a food, I wouldn't be fit for human consumption. [lol]

I'm so freaking tired.

And I guess I'm feeling a little bit of my own mortality this week. We lost yet another friend to mankinds age old enemy, death. That nasty dark fellow that follows all of us around waiting for that last breath. This recent loss is the 91 year old mother of a long time friend. I liked her mother, she was a really sweet Christian lady.

It's just getting tiresome, you know ... all these funerals. When we were young, we attended many a wedding and, for me, bridal shower. Those days are gone. Hubby and I have lost three friends in two months: Dr. Camberg, Kenneth Chancey and Mrs. Tison. Now, grant you, they were all elderly and infirm, but their loss is still felt all the same.

Our little world looks different ... and just a little sadder.

Recently the eye doctor bumped me up to tri-focals. My new eyeglasses are pretty (at least I think so) and corrected this way, I can see so much better.

So, that's a good thing.

But, today I'm feeling my age, and then some.

On a happier note, Hubby and I are "famous" this week too. He wrote an letter to Ride Texas Magazine and they printed it in this month's issue (Sept. 2009). We do so love riding in the Texas Hill Country.

We enjoyed the vacations out there so much that I've even been looking at land For Sale there. Who knows? We might get to move there one day. But, even if we don't, it's not a biggy. I do love our little slice of Georgia paradise. So I won't cry over split milk if it doesn't happen.

Well, supper's ready. We're having skinless, boneless chicken thighs, yellow saffron rice, and big green frozen peas. Yum, Yum! Maybe a good hearty meal will improve my spirits? It can't hurt, right?! [smile]

And I promise not to fuss at hubby too much. [giggle] He's such a sweet guy.

I hope your weekend is happy and fun. As we used to say on the C-B Radio, "Catchya on the flip-flop good buddy!"

Just Say No

I thought y'all might be interested in these new taxes being proposed, if you haven't heard about them already. The Demoncrats are trying to pass some new tax laws:

Food and Beverage Tax The Food and Beverage tax is especially heinous for they will definately hurt the poor and those on 'fixed' incomes.

Performance Tax on Radio Stations This should essentially kill any free speech from that arena.

I'm sure there are other tax proposals but I'm not aware of them yet.

It's all part of the Demoncratic plan to fund your 'free' trillion-dollar healthcare overhaul bill by taxing "wealthy" Americans (i.e. Middle Class).

Medicare is about to go, or is already, bankrupt. As even the youngest member of society knows, Medicare is run by our inept Federal government. And there are people who want to expand the government run health care industry!!??

One of my absolute favorite people on Fox News is Judge Andrew P. Napolitano. I love it when it takes a point of law and breaks it down for us non-lawyer people. He's good and very constituionally sound.

I didn't realize he was such a Libertarian. Just like us! I personally think Judge Napolitano should run for President.

After reading the article reviewing his new book "The Constitution In Exile, I've ordered a copy from Amazon.Com.

For some time now, I've been stating aloud that all this mess with our country started about 1850, and was exacerbated by 'Dishonest' Abe Lincoln and his War of Northern Aggression. He took the Constitution and used it for toilet paper by leading us into that unnecessary war.


By the way, we're up to **32 Czars** in the Administration under his 'highness' the illegal Obama. EVERYTHING this man has done is unconstitutional!! [sigh] Now Obama is refusing to call them Czars.

Well, Mr. Obama, a Skunk by any other name still smells the same.

Sunday Musings

We had a very good day at church. Pastor continued his lesson on Second Samuel that we've been enjoying for a couple of Sundays. This time the lesson was about when the The Ark of the Lord Comes to Jerusalem (2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12b-19). An outline of his lesson is here: LINK.

The Ark of the Covenant (symbolic of our blessed Lord Jesus), which housed the clay tablets written on by God, is carried to the permanent tabernacle in the city of David in today's lesson.

Every place that housed the Ark was blessed.

Every place that did not house the Ark, did not prosper.

I also learned today something new about the stone tablets with the commandments that Moses brought down from the mountain. Let's see if I can phrase this properly: Pastor said that after the hand of God wrote on the tablets, they became very light and easy to carry. When Moses descended the mountain and witnessed the crowd worshipping the golden idol, the tablets were too heavy to hold and were broken.

So, my take on this piece of Holy Scripture is this: When trusting God, He wipes away our sin and makes our lives lighter. When we give in to sin, our lives become too heavy and become broken.

Wow, that's profound!

I always feel so refreshed after going to our services. I've never felt that way about attending church before.

I used to hate it.

What changed?

I don't know, either I did or I've found my niche. Maybe both? :o) Who knows but I'm enjoying myself immensely.

Anyway, after service and a nice light lunch, hubby hung a gourd birdhouse for me down by the road. He painted this plain plastic gourd at my request some time ago but with all the medical this and that, we've been too distracted to have any projects of any consequence.
