I'm sure that almost everyone who follows or reads my blog is a praying Christian. I can tell. Thank you for being a Prayer Warrior. We need to suit up, have courage, and keep our lamps trimmed. The days are growing darker and we're closer to when Jesus will take His Church outta the way then all h*ll will break loose. Literally. I pray for those that will be left behind. As our Pastor once so rightly said, there will be no good people left. You think it's dangerous now ... The temperature was still pleasant earlier today, so, I took my ride out for a spin. Steve needed the engine warmed up to do an oil change. I was happy to oblige! Our dirt road was already getting dangerously sandy. Plus someone had decided that the little dirt intersection between us and the pavement would make a good spot to spin donuts with their 4 wheeler. 😡 (Don't get me started on how I feel about 4 wheelers ... it's not fit to print.) We need rain again to pack it all down.

Welcome May And Catching Up
That was nice to take a little breather from many social media's. After awhile they begin to "own" you body and soul if one isn't careful.
It's been so terribly busy here at Red Bird Acres: planting, gardening, yardwork, clearing more land, and so forth. You'd think we owned 20 acres the way I've found so much to do! (There's "only" 6 1/2 acres.) 😁 This is my hobby for now, until the health can no longer support the desire. God is good to have blessed us with a pleasant, quiet, tranquil, safe area to live in. Oh, it has it's non-plus's too but I try not to go there, like, the warmer weather brings out the biting bugs. 😥 One simply wears the appropriate cover ups and carries on. And I could definitely do without whomever the neighbor(s) is that keeps littering our beautiful countryside.
There's lots of birds either migrating through or here to stay for the Season. This year, we have at least one nesting pair of Summer Tanager on our property! (below) When the resident Mockingbird allows, they are scarfing up the Mulberry fruit. The tree is huge this year. It's gorgeous. I'm going to try to find another Mulberry to plant near this one. That spot must be just dandy for fruit trees.
Our View Off The Back Deck
There are only a few Ruby-throated Hummingbirds at the moment but I expect more will arrive soon. They do love all the Red and Purple Salvia's that are planted along the back deck and in pots. The veg's are taking their own sweet time but we did get to harvest one Zucchini. I'll be glad when they all ripen so we can have them all through the Summer.

Resurrection Sunday
Luke 24: 1 "On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” 8 Then they remembered his words.
9 When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. 11 But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. 12 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened."

Monday Musings
Good morning good folks!
I hope everyone had a delightful, easy weekend?! Mine was uneventful. We had a dear friend over on Friday evening to break bread together. Saturday was my day of rest. Then Sunday it was Sunday School and Church.
Today, I have an appointment at the Urologist for the cystoscopy. I have to have one of these performed about every 10 years because if I don't I'll begin having urology difficulties. 🤣 No biggy just an owie for a little while. God always supplies the doctors or whatever I need when I need it. And since the procedure can be quite painful, especially at first, I always opt for the drugging before the procedure. Steve will have to drive me around today. He doesn't mind. I get another day of rest!
The Hummingbirds are here! First it was only the males to stake out their territory. Sunday a female has arrived. I love it when they are here. Hopefully the Great-crested Flycatchers will soon be nesting in the big gourd homes out front. Their songs fill the air all of Spring. Then they leave us to our Summer heat but it's nice while they are here. 😄
That's it for now. Gotta "go". I pray your day is sweet and full of the grace of God that flows from His Holy Throne. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Wednesday Hodgepodge-Volume 542
Original post questions here if you'd like to join in.
🍀 1. Thursday is National Pi Day...are you good at math? Pretty much. I can't do high finance but I get along pretty well. What was the last thing you had to calculate? Paying the bills, you know, juggling our what feels like $2 to stretch it to cover everything needed. Ok, I may have exaggerated a little bit ... it's more like $4. Before taxes. 🤣 Did you use your head or technology? Both. Last slice of pie you ate? About 5 years ago. We gave up most sugar and carb's about then. I feel much better not eating junk food anymore.
🍀 2. What makes a house a home? Having Jesus reside in our hearts and that my sweet husband is still here. I so super grateful to God for us both being alive and together. I give Him the glory. 😍
🍀 3. Your current favorite green thing? The grass greening up after it being brown all winter, the lime green leaves on the Oaks, the pine needles swaying in the warm breezes. It's delightful.
🍀 4. How do you define achievement? That's not something I think about. Don't know what to say. How does your personal definition look similar to, or different than, society's definition? I'm sure my way of thinking is way different from the world! I hope so. What's something you think is worth achieving in life? Becoming a better cook in case I have to feed myself some day, memorizing God's Holy Word, and serving others as best I can. When we serve others we serve God.
🍀 5. What song is a good soundtrack for your life right now? "Running On Empty" by Jackson Browne. It feels that way sometimes.
🍀 6. Insert your own random thought here.
Between all the yard work, the weekly keeping the house spit spot, running errands, helping a neighbor and everything else, I'm worn out. My own fault. Part of the feeling tired is an old urology issue that has raised it's ugly head and one other issue that I hadn't had a problem with for about 4 or 5 years. When it rains, it pours. 😉 That's OK. Neither are life threatening. Just an annoying part of life. God's got this. I did manage to make an appointment for in 2 weeks time to address the urology issue. It's something that happens to me every 10 years or so. The other is OTC (over-the-counter) and should correct itself with the right care. It's just all the discomfort is making me sleep deprived on top of everything else. Hopefully, I'll stop being ratty and difficult to deal with by Sunday 😂 since that's our 45th First Date Anniversary. I do want to go somewhere to celebrate. We might wanna celebrate on Saturday instead of Sunday because it will involve a little traveling. Just thinking out loud. 😁
Thanks for stopping by and your always welcome comments. Ride Safe dear ones.

Sunday Blessings
Tired again. I just couldn't get in the mood to answer so many questions. I only wanted to wish everyone a blessed Sunday. I've turned off the comments this time so we can all relax.
We're off to Church to spend time with dear friends and worship the One Who loves us best. Remember that Jesus LOVE YOU. I pray He will be removing us to His side soon and that "none shall perish". 💝 Have a glorious day friends. Oh, and I hope everyone remembered to adjust their clocks!

🌻 It's a short post this week. We've been busy mowing, cutting and removing old trees, burning leaves, and planting the flowers purchased from County Farm Plants in Baxley.

Sunday Stealing: Crafting
🧵 1. What (if anything) are you doing to celebrate St Patrick's Day? Steve and I try to celebrate every year as this is our self-designated "anniversary". On March 17th of 1979 we went on our first date and have been together ever since. So, St. Patty's is our First Date Anniversary. Then we officially married in August of that year. I'm not sure what we'll do this year. Haven't really discussed it yet as it will be our 45th.
🧵 2. What is your least favorite color (to wear, to craft with or to decorate with)? I'll have to think about that for a moment because I like almost all colours. Um, I guess my least favorite would be the blue that Toyota picked to paint some of their auto's with. It's too purple for my tastes. I believe it's called Blue Crush Metallic. Not a fan.
🧵 3. At a yellow light - do you speed up or slow down?? Usually slow down to stop. Don't want to run a red light but it depends on the traffic situation and if there is proper time to do so safely. I try not to ever do things to scare or endanger others but I also do not want to be rear-ended especially on my motorbike. There's too many distracted or doped drivers these days.
🧵 4. How many pairs of scissors are in your craft room? About 5, last count. One of these is Steve's old telephone repair snips he always carried at work. He's a retired Southern Bell employee. He wore those, or ones similar, on his tool belt for 41 years.
🧵 5. What are the first three items you have 'saved for later' on Amazon? None at the moment. I do have some mulling around in my squishy brain though ...
🧵 6. Did you plant any springs bulbs in your garden and if so, have any of them come up yet? Bulbs won't grow in our sandy, porous soil here in Southeast Georgia. We live in a forest of piney woods and scrub oak. When we lived in Jax (Jacksonville, Florida) I grew Amaryllis because the soil was a rich loam. They are lovely in the Spring.
🧵 7. What book, if any, are you reading right now? Finished "Breaking Free" by Beth Moore! Yay. Finally. What a life changing read that's been. Steve's starting on it now, so, I'm betwixt and between at the moment. Got some books on order though.
🧵 8. Do you prefer ball point pens, gel pens, or thin tip markers to write with? Gel pens. I don't have to press down so hard to make it visible.
🧵 9. What is your favorite crafting item - the craft item thing you use the most or can't live without? (Exclude basic items like scissors and glue) It used to be craft paint. I really enjoyed drawing, painting, making things and being creative. I was really into stenciling on walls, doors, outside poles, anything that didn't move. There's too much tremor and arthritis to do that now.
🧵 10. What are the first 3 items on your grocery list and what is your favorite grocery store? Our weekly needs of Jumbo eggs, Half and Half, and Amish Butter. Because we live way out in the country and the closest grocery stores are in a small town, we have to shop at all of them to get all we need and want.
🧵 11. What unfinished craft projects are you working on (or not:) at the moment? There are none at the moment.
🧵 12. What was the last item you pinned on Pinterest? Or hearted on Instagram? I don't use either of them.
🧵 13. What is the biggest tourist attraction where you live? The Okefenokee Swamp near Waycross.
🧵 14. What color is your favorite sweater? A dark creamy brown with little sparkles in it.
🧵 15. How does your family react when you get a big pile of mail? That's kind of an odd question. What can we do but deal with it?! Most end up in the round file anyway. 🚮
🧵 My thoughts:
We had a lovely time at County Farm Plant Company on Friday. We and all the ladies probably bought way too many plants. I have my job set for next week. If it keeps raining (fingers crossed) there should be a profusion of color in the back yard by April. I want to attract lots of wildlife. God's creation is much more entertaining than TV.
After all the plant shopping we all stopped by El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant in Patterson to continue the smiles, laughter and funny stories.
It was a great time all around. More sweet memories have been made and we made sure to thank Jesus for blessing us so!
Have a lovely Sunday. Keep looking up! Jesus is going to gather all of us who believe in Him to His Home soon. ✝️
