The Mother Of All Days

My adopted mother Helen and me
just before she passed away [1966]
Tribute At FindAGrave

From "History Of Mother's Day"
Mark your calendars: This Sunday, May 13, is Mother's Day. And contrary to popular belief, the holiday did not rise up from the corporate brain trust of Hallmark and FTD florists. The day to celebrate mom has ancient roots.

The day can be traced to ancient Greece, which honored Rhea, mother of the gods, with offerings of honey cake, drinks, and flowers at dawn. The Romans built a temple for the mother of the gods, Magna Mater (Great Mother), and the Festival of Hilaria called for gifts to be brought to the temple to please the goddess.

In 17th-century England, early catholics reserved a day to honor Mary, the mother of Christ. By a later religious order all mothers began to be honored, and the day was christened "Mothering Sunday."

The holiday came to America when, in 1907, grateful daughter Anna Jarvis held a church service on May 12 in West Virginia to honor her late mother's work promoting women's groups for friendship and health. Within five years, almost every state was observing the day, and in 1914, President Woodrow Wilson [an early Progressive and one of the WORST Presidents ever!] declared it a national holiday.

According to History.com, the tradition of buying flowers on Mother's Day started with wearing carnations to honor moms -- white for a mother who had passed, and red or pink for the living -- and grew to be a more retail event involving cards and gifts. Jarvis, who felt the commercialization did not fit the spirit of the day, spent the last years of her life trying to abolish the holiday she had started ...

As y'all have probably guessed, I'm not really into keeping holidays. ANY holiday. The Holy Bible and the Apostle Paul strickly warn about this and for good reason. Most of them are of pagan origin and they only detract us from the true message of salvation by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ, but, I digress.

Like most I do love my mother. Very much. Since I lost my adopted mother in 1966, I have hoped that by trying to live an honorable life that she would have respected, that I have brought honor to her name. What few memories I have of Helen are that she was a gentle, soft spoken, Christian woman. I still have her well worn Bible by my bedside. It's in the Kings James language so I don't read it often, much preferring a Bible that speaks in my native tongue of modern American. I get lost and tangled up in all the "thee's" and "thou's" in the old language but it is pretty to read. And it's nice to know that the hands that loved me and once held mine have once touched the very pages that I now touch. It helps keep the connection alive.

That said, Happy Mother's Day in Heaven mom. I miss you. Every day. I wish you could have lived just a little longer but thank you for being there as long as you were. I love you.

Campaign Catch Phrase Or Are We Already Caught?

The new campaign message from the Dear Leader is "Forward"?! Forward to what, pray tell?!

Forward to even higher unemployment
Forward to printing more money that is unsustainable
Forward to more debt that can never be repaid
Forward to even more loss of FREEDOMs and liberties
Forward to allowing more illegals to vote AND receive tax refunds
Forward to more scandals
Forward to more failures
Forward to more lies
Forward to more worshippin at the feet of this false idol
Forward to more Socialism

... the list of evil this man and his cronies have wrought upon America could go on all day ...

The unemployment has reached near Great Depression levels. So while some will tout the 8.1 percent as good news, the unemployment rate is actually closer to 11.5 percent. When you take into account those who have been forced to take part-time work because they cannot find full-time, the real unemployment rate is higher than 14.5 percent! Who would want more of that?! Oh, yeah, the Dear Leader and his band of self-righteous demons do. That's right.

And guess what, in the face of this daunting news, 'President' O'Blamo has chosen to double down on his tax and spend agenda. In February, he proposed a budget that would add another $11 trillion to the national debt and impose a $1.9 trillion tax increase on our already struggling economy. I pray that not a single member of Congress would vote for it when given the chance.

Well, all I got to say is Paul Harvey had it right in 1965. Please take the time to listen to this very short YouTube video [3.22 minutes] of his warning about someone just like the Dear Leader:

Paul Harvey, "If I Where The Devil"

And that's the rest of the story.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone, or at least, try to.

My World Is Finally Spinning In Greased Grooves

Well, after much delay, and weeks and weeks of (not so patient) waiting, my new set of wheels have arrived. It was a long haul to a community just outside of Atlanta but it was worth the wait.

The Bonney!

Another view

My Bonney joined the stable
with Hubby's "Guzzi" and our cafe racer.

So whadda y'all think? Ain't she purdy or what!?

I need to make a couple of changes before any long distance riding. The seat is an absolute torture rack, so, I plan to have this seat padded and reshaped by a reliable source close by. Also, it needs a set of risers installed to bring the handlebars back just a tad. After my neck surgery I'm very sensitive to back and neck pain. This happens with every motorcycle I've owned of late. One must do what one must do to make it comfortable. BUT I AM SO HAPPY to be wheelin' again!

Aw, yes, the world is now spinning in greased grooves. :)

A Rose By Any Other Name

Is there still any doubt that our El Presidente is a Communist?

Obama was born to a Communist family, was mentored by Communist mentors, said he sought out Communist professors in college, where he was known as a Communist by fellow students. As an adult, he chose to work alongside a procession of Communists. He gave lessons on how to be a stealth Communist. He shared an office with Communists, he hired one to ghost write his first book. He has been promoted by Communists and he has promoted them. He has appointed Communists to various posts in his administration.

He has taken a nation of Goodness and Light and led us into his father of all lie's darkness.

Obama is a Commie.

Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary, How Does Your Garden Grow?

Green Beans

Remember the garden center my hubby built last year? Well, another crop is coming in soon! My mobile garden center idea is working out great! Can't wait to have our big crop of green beans this year.

How does your garden grow?

Good Bye First Amendment Rights

This is a "while you where sleeping ..." moment.

Did you know that it is now illegal to protest anywhere near or around "President" Obama? Or anyone else with an SS (i.e. Jack Booted Thug) detail.
HR437, "the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011" makes it illegal to protest in the vicinity of anyone who rates a Secret Service detail (even if you aren't aware of the person's presence), thus sparing politicians and VIPs the ugly and unseemly spectacle of having to confront voters who disagree with their policies. Only three Congressmen voted against it.

Does the term "unconstitutional" come to mind? Well, YEAH! And this is A Big Deal!

You know who one of the three that voted against it, don't you. Yep, Ron Paul.

And this is just one law in a long list of unconstitutional laws passed since the O'blamo coup d'état. Do we even have a Constitution anymore?

Gosh, I miss living in America.

Sweet dreams.

Two Minutes With The Bible ~ Who Shall Separate Us From Christ

WHO SHALL SEPARATE US FROM CHRIST
by Cornelius R. Stam
Berean Bible Society

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?" (Rom.8:35).

There have been individuals who thought the doctrine of the believer's eternal security in Christ to be a dangerous heresy. They countered every Scripture on the subject with another to refute it. But in each of these cases it was this great truth, "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ", that finally persuaded them.

It is significant that the Apostle Paul never tells us about his love for Christ, but he is always telling us about Christ's love for him and for others! The Law commands: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God", but grace puts it the other way, telling us how deeply God loves us -- and this begets love in return. The Apostle experienced discouragements that would have caused him to give up the work of the Lord a thousand times, but he could not. Why? He says, "the love of Christ constraineth us?" (II Cor. 5:14); it bore him along like a strong tide. No doubt he had this very thing in mind when he continued writing in Romans 8.

"For Thy sake we are killed all the day long...accounted as sheep for the slaughter" (Ver.36).

And therefore defeated? Far from it!

"Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us" (Ver.37).

Not only do we win the battle; we are "more than conquerors", for these adversities serve to draw us into still closer fellowship with Him, thus enriching our Christian experience.

When people or nations engage in battle, generally no one wins; both lose. But Paul's personal experience serves as the foremost example that in the Christian life, "tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril [and] sword" bring us more than victory when borne for Him who loved us.

Thus this great chapter opens with "no condemnation" and closes with "no separation", and the Apostle, gathering all the forces of creation together, whether they be time, space, or matter, declares that none of them can separate us from "the love of God, which is [manifested] in Christ Jesus" (Vers.38,39). Whether it be death or life, heavenly principalities, things present or things to come, height or depth or any other created thing -- none of them, nor all together -- can threaten our security or separate us from the love of God, which He has manifested to us in Christ Jesus.

Fascists Prove Ted Nugent Right

I guess you've heard:
Right-wing rocker Ted Nugent is being investigated by the Secret Service after making a threat against President Obama while speaking at the National Rifle Association convention in St. Louis last weekend. ... Nugent said, "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will be dead or in jail by this time next year." Nugent, an NRA member, was appearing at the convention to persuade NRA members to convince others to vote for Mitt Romney. [Drudge Report, Yahoo News]

I'm not a Nugent fan since his language is too course and rude and I don't care for his music. But people do have the right to say pretty much anything they wish, as long as it's not slanderous. The Left are always ready to be vitriolic AND truly threatening but I don't see them being arrested or threated by jack booted thugs! I guess the First Amendment "freedom of speech" part no longer exists if you're considered "right wing" in our country.

First of all, my take is that Ted Nugent didn't threaten the Dear Leader. He seems to be making the statement that the O'Blamo Fascists will have him killed or jailed by this time next year if they're still in power.

Second, looks like the O'Blamo Fascists (i.e. SS - the initials fit, don't they) have proven him right, just a little early that's all.

Interesting side note, today is the anniversary of the midnight ride of Paul Revere.

Hmmmm ...

Progressive Philistines: A Party Tied In NOTS

Even though I'm not a Romney fan when one of The Left's attack dogs, Hilary Rosen, zeroed in on Ann Romney for being a stay at home mom, it made me flippin' mad! It probably made a lot of "stay at home's" pretty angry. If she had been in the room, I would have slapped a knot on top of her head! I'm so tired of the empty-headed, hate-mongering, childish, vitriolic tantrums we get from these people. And the Lame Stream Media are their enablers. Going right along with the lies and hate. Does anybody with anything other than rabbit ear TV's even watch the MSM anymore?

NOT!

I can already tell this is going to be a very long campaign.

Since The Left has chosen to "... not retrain God in their knowledge ..." they have become the Party Of NOTS. This is only the beginning, I'm sure. I hope the opposing nominee To The Head Nygga What Be In Charge can rise above the sewage that will be spewed at them in the next few months.

It's gonna be a long, hot summer ...

h/t GrrrGraphics

My oath is to support and defend the CONSTITUTION against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Obama has committed treason over and over again. We have a domestic enemy in the White House including most of the Senate and Congress. I pray that voters remember that this November.

Obama Resigns

April fools

... but one can dream ... can't one ...

A Poem On Palm Sunday

When I stand at the Judgment Seat of Christ
And He shows me His plan for me;
The plan of my life as it might have been
Had He had His way, and I see

How I blocked Him here and checked Him there
And I would not yield my will,
Shall I see grief in my Savior’s eyes;
Grief though He loves me still?

Oh, He’d have me rich, and I stand there poor,
Stripped of all but His grace,
While my memory runs like a hunted thing
Down the paths I can’t retrace.

Then my desolate heart will well-nigh break
With tears that I cannot shed.
I’ll cover my face with my empty hands
And bow my uncrowned head.

No! Lord of the years that are left to me
I yield them to Thy hand.
Take me, make me, mold me
To the pattern Thou hast planned.

Obama's Russian Connection

Recently an open mic moment happened between our "President" Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Oblamo has stated that he plans to further sell America down the river after the next election.

Honest-to-goodness, when first watching this video, it looks like Oblamo wants to kiss Medvedev right on the lips! Doesn't it?! Ewwww.

Thanks to Tom Fife's writings, this blog warned America that Obama's traveling and education was funded by the Russians back in October 2009. Here's more proof of that fact:

Does anyone still have any doubt that Obama is evil?

Ride Naked

2007 Suzuki V-Strom 650
and
2007 Triumph Tiger 1050

That got your attention, didn't it? [giggle]

It was with a sad heart that Hubby and I sold our precious motorbikes this past weekend. Both of us had tired of the Adventure Bike type of riding and have every intent of changing our riding styles.

The style we both hanker for is called "naked bikes". For the non-rider that means no plastic side panels on our bikes. For example like the:

Triumph Bonneville SE 870
The "Bonney" is the bike I'm seriously considering.

I was lucky enough to ride one a few months ago during the Triumph Demo Days in Orange Park, Florida.

The Demo wasn't a good one because the owners had put an off road muffler on it. It was so freakin' loud that I was hestitant about buying the bike. That was a stupid marketing move on the owners part. I'm not a 20 year old male for goodness sake. I like quiet machines. Anyway, even though they tried to ruin the experience, I still enjoyed the ride and the feeling stayed with me all these months. I like the light feeling and easy handling of the bike. It's a sweet little bike. So, Hubby and I made the leap this weekend by selling our precious duo. We've had so many adventures on these wheels. I almost cried but I feel like they both found good homes in Florida.

I could also end up with a Triumph Bonneville T100. They're very similiar except one has mag wheels and one has spoked. It's six one way and half a dozen the other.

Hubby wants a:

Moto Guzzi Breva 1100
Another "naked" bike. Easy to ride, simple to maintain, just like the "Bonney".

However, we live so far out in the boonies that we have to pipe in sunlight. The only place to buy such an animal is in Dahlonega, Georgia. That's quite a haul for us but I guess we'll have to make the trip. At least North Georgia is very beautiful, so, I don't mind having to make a trip there.

Hubby said he plans to call the Breva his Italian Mistress.

How do you say "jealous" in italian? [ha ha]

Obamacare Being Reviewed By Supreme Court

The Supreme Court will begin to hear the ObamaCare case tomorrow.

This is a call for all Christians of every faith to be praying night and day that Obamacare will be ruled unconstitutional, as it should be.

Chu On This

First, a blast from the past:
We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises. I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started. … And an enormous debt to boot!
Henry Morgenthau, Jr. - FDR Treasury Secretary, testifying before Congress, May 1939

Didn't work then. Doesn't work now.

Energy Secretary Steven Chu is laughing with delight at our high gas prices. He and the "Magic Negro" have planned this from the start.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Energy Secretary Steven Chu told a House committee today that his agency deserved "better than an A-" for its handling of gas prices and fuel standards ... [link]

I feel sick.

Knowing our bleak economy future, and that goes double for New York and California, imagine these two scenarios:

* Today's awful economy but Obama loses his re-election bid.
* A booming economy with > 7% growth and < 6% unemployment but Obama gets re-elected.

Which would you choose? I despise this bogus "leadership" with all my fiber but do want the economy to improve. Tough choice. Very few of our elected officials deserve to be re-elected. They should all be kicked out of office. There's no way the second scenario will happen with this bunch of losers at the helm. It's financially impossible because the main causes prolonging this dismal grey economy are Obama's failed policies -- primarily Big Government spending. So, sadly, there is no doubt that the second scenario could not possibly occur.

America could right this ship tomorrow with little or no further Government spending. We would just have to repeal three unconstitutional bills: Sarbanes/Oxley, Dodd/Frank and Obamacare. Regulations in those bills are hampering job creation. Duh. All it would cost to repeal them and reinstate the status quo ante would be the cost of printing the repeal bill and signing it into law.

Picture an eagle chained to the ground so he cannot hunt, weighed down with a heavy iron collar so he cannot lift his head to feed, and presented with oatmeal instead of meat. Is it any wonder such a beast would waste away and become sick? Would you express astonishment if his muscles atrophied and his skin sagged? But release him and let him hunt easy prey and will he not recover? Unless our country adopts Libertarian ideals, the eagle can not hunt and will die.

The chance for freedom is still partly in our hands. The next few months will determine if our country lives or dies.

"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have." Thomas Jefferson

H.R. 347 And The Death Of Freedom

It is now a FELONY to protest near the President of the United States, to be determined by the once noble Secret Service. I hear the SS are changing their names to Jack Booted Thugs. Might as well be truthful about something. This little known important passing of "law", and I use the term loosely, is being brought to you by our local Demoncrats and Republicans with the passing of HR 347. Once signed, HR 347 will empower federal agents to arrest and bring felony criminal charges against citizens engaged in political protests anywhere in the USA. If a person is found guilty of "protesting" (I assume there are still trials in this country?), this person can spend a mandatory one(1) year in prison for exercising their GOD GIVEN and US Constitution protected RIGHTS. But protesting the Supreme Court while they determine that Obamacare is unconstitutional and illegal is OK?! Yep. Welcome to the USSA folks. It is now official. The TEA Party is dead and fascism is now the norm. How dare we disagree with The Dear Leader!

What happened to our American patriotic spirit? It seems to have taken the last train for the coast. I witnessed a video on our local Green Screen for Ware County yesterday about the "Battle of Athens, Tennessee". This is a little known event is where a group of returning World War II vets "borrowed" guns from their local Armory and prevented a corrupt Sheriff from stealing the election yet again.

or use this link:
http://voxvocispublicus.homestead.com/Battle-of-Athens.html

We have the ultimate corrupt Sheriff in Obama and the House and Senate are his enablers. I believe now that even with replacing this trail of cat sick this November, there is no hope we'll ever get back our freedoms again. It's gone too far.

Gosh, I hope I'm wrong.
