Resolution Passes Claiming Oklahoma's Sovereignty

I now like Oklahoma!

The lesson? That despite what some ex-hippie, brain dead, government paid baby sitters indoctrinate U.S. kids with in that place called a class room, this is the real reason for the original War Of Northern Aggression: States rights!

History appears to be repeating itself and we get to witness this one.

Texas fired the first 'shot' over the Federal bow this time, instead of South Carolina. Now the noble State of Oklahoma is wading into the fray. We are feverantly praying that Georgia will flip the Fed's the Big Finger and tell them "We don't need no stinkin' money".

--+--

Oklahoma City - State lawmakers have passed a resolution that claims the state's sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

It comes a day after Texas made headlines for doing the same thing.

House Joint Resolution 1003 was authored by Republican Representative Charles Key of Oklahoma City and was championed in the Senate by Republican Senator Randy Brogdon of Owasso.

"The Tenth Amendment assures that we, the people of the United States of America and each sovereign state in the Union of States, now have, and have always had, rights the federal government may not usurp," the legislation reads.

The 10th Amendment states that "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

The resolution passed in the Senate by a vote of 29 to 18. It previously passed in the House in February by a vote of 83 to 13.

"Today, thousands of regular citizens showed up at this state Capitol to say they want the federal government to follow the United States Constitution," said Key. "

Oklahoma became the first state to pass 10th Amendment legislation last year. But, the House resolution hit a road block in the state Senate when the legislature adjourned with no action being taken.

"We now have an opportunity to be the first state to have it signed it into law," Key added. "Once the resolution is on the governor’s desk, I hope he will quickly sign House Joint Resolution 1003 into law. I also hope that when it is distributed to President Barack Obama and other elected officials of the federal government that they will recall the oaths to the United States Constitution that they all took and take heed.”

The resolution is now on its way back to the House.

Roll, Roll, Roll In Zee ... Hey!?

Wouldn't you really hate to be the one to try and rescue him!?

By the way, he's not dead and badgers can give a nasty bite.

I wonder where this is? There are no wild badgers in SE Georgia. I received these images in an e-mail from a friend who did not state the location.

Got any stuck in hay jokes y'all ... that can be repeated in mixed company. :o)

Anyway, I am pretty sure this qualifies as one of the things that really pisses a badger off …

Our Fencing Project And More

The projects down by the gate are finally completed! Well, almost, that is. The only thing left is to do is hire those nice strong fence guys again and have them complete the black creosote fence all the way down the front of our property (about 100 feet, give or take).

But, for the most part, our work is done!

"YAY! Party! Party!" [lol]

So, here's a few photos of the project.

In the beginning, the fence guys arrived and put up the start of the creosote fence. I had them keep the field fencing behind the new fence to keep our doggies IN and neighbor doggies OUT.

Doesn't that look lovely now? Wait until the fence runs down the entire front of our country property. I'm just waiting for the checkbook to catch up with my gardening ambitions. [smile]

Here's Sweetie laying down the first landscaping timbers to hold the top soil and mulch in place. There will be two of planters, one for each side of the gate.

There ... now you see what I'm talkin' about! Now to just fill them with top soil, plants and mulch ... in that order.

And one for the other side ...

I told Sweetie, "Quick, take a picture, I'm working!" Now there's proof. :^P

Ta da! All done. This side has lavender Lantana and one Bottle Brush plant (red).

Looks better, doesn't it? This side has yellow Lantana with one Bottle Brush (red). These should offer dramatic visual effects when blooming.

One of the really important things I've learned in flower gardening is to cluster the same colors together for a more dramatic effect. It draws the eye to one area at a time. It makes more of an impression that way (if that's what one is aiming for).

Now to call the fencing company and order the remainder of that fence ... oh, dang ... WAIT ... it's Sunday. I'll have to wait a couple of days.

Did I just hear the checkbook heave a big sigh of relief ... ???

Saturday Toilings

I've had such a wonderful day! Husband I have been working outside frequently of late. The weather is so pleasant. The air has that sweet, deliciousness about it that only Spring can have. Even my neck feels dandy. I must be completely healed from the surgery as I have no more pain at all now. Just a little muscle soreness on the right side from lack of use but that can be worked out. The secret is to pace myself and quick trying to do everything in 5 minutes. Even after all these years, I still have to remind myself that my father isn't yelling at me to "hurry up" anymore.

Sweeeeeeeet.

We're almost done with the matching planters project down by the road. The only chore remaining is to lay the red cypress mulch evenly between the Yellow Lantana and I'm 'Good To Go'. I plan to save that for after church tomorrow. When that is completed, I can share all the photos. It's suppose to rain Monday and that's good news too. It's been my experience that transplants love rain. They'll grow like crazy after that!

Then, we get to work on the rest of the yard! [sigh] It just never ends, does it? ... (aw, you know I love it .. lol).

So have a happy weekend y'all!

"Give thought to the flowers: they do no work, they make no thread; and still I say to you, Even Solomon, in all his glory, was not clothed like one of these."

Didn't they look like a happy couple. Wonder why she isn't smiling though? Maybe her corset was too tight. Could be what caused the split-up between Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam.

Anti-Tax Tea Day Patriots (Updated)

"CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!!?"

(Please scroll to bottom for updated links concerning the rally)

In tradition with our rich heritage of free speech, my husband and I decided to join in one of the 'local' Tea Day protests.

Original Boston Tea Party
"You heap pale red man, kemosloppy"

We estimated there were about 636* folks in attendance at the St. Simon's Island Marina today. Could be more because some were pouring in as we left.

* Source is Scarlett who hosted the event. Thanks Dawn! :o)

Everyone we talked to and met was polite, calm, and respectful. Most of us had never protested anything our entire lives. Says something, doesn't it? No wonder the liberal news media is lieing about all these events. Claiming that the Republicans are behind it, yadda, yadda, yadda. Bunch of hot air. Nope. This is a grass roots effort to stop the Democrat-Republican fascism in our politics.

And only a couple of passersby showed us their I.Q. level with one finger. I think that's pretty good!

Husband made the signs. Yeah, I see the misspelled "Allready" and made him carry it. Ain't I a stinker?

Well, it was such fun.

There were also petitions to sign that are being sent to our politians asking them to respect our wishes for lower taxes and less intrusive government. We are earnestly praying that these events will make a difference and are hoping to avoid another Civil War. I am praying that somehow we can restore our rights and liberties for future generations by going back to the Constitution. Hey, miracles can happen.

Oh, yeah, and we're going to be in the local Brunswick news. I'll post that if I can find a link and/or photos.

***UPDATES***

You can find live footage of the rally at: OurNetNews.Com (Hubby and I are at the 5:46 mark)

We were interviewed by The Brunswick News but they don't seem to have anything on-line ... yet. It should be under 'Local News' if it ever gets posted.

A Prayer And A Family Photo

Billy Graham

Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free.

Amen!"

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.'

Hubby told me that he knows now that it was watching one those old Billy Graham specials on TV that helped lead him to Christ. Mr. Graham has helped many people change their lives.

And a family photo:

Wiregrass Musings

The weather and temperatures are so pleasant that we went for our daily two mile stroll this morning. I call it a stroll, because at our age anything over 2 miles per hour is brisk.

Mill Creek Road

Can you believe the locals actually trash this beautiful scene? Yep. So, when I walk, I also carry a garbage bag and the proper tools for picking up trash. It's so pretty here that I want to keep it that way. Just my way of saving the world, one beer can at a time (and these are not mine). [giggle]

Ssssave Our Sssssnakessss

Met with Mr. Greensnake for a moment. He was laying in the road sunning himself. Lazy thing. "Get a job, you bum!" He didn't want to help, so, husband shoo-ed him off the road. At least he wouldn't get run over. We saw a brillant reddish colored young rat snake about 3 feet long yesterday. Hubby helped him off the road too before some local toothless yocal can brag "Yep, I kilt a rattle snake 10 feet long ..."

"See a penny, pick it up.
All the day you'll have good luck."

It's about time I got paid for picking everyone else's trash! :o)

"A penny saved, is a penny taxed."

Who said that?

Anyway, it makes me wonder how many folks will be attending "Tea Party's" this April 15th? There's one in Atlanta, GA, I know that. We will watch Fox News all day and hope that others can make the events across country. Hey, I can't save the world on my own you people! Ya gotta meet me halfway here. [lol]

"I'd rather stay in my shell, thank you."

With all the rain, a box turtle decided to get up and move around. I love meeting up with all these creatures on our walks. Country living is so much fun!

Happy Passover and Happy Easter. Have a great weekend y'all. God bless.

Texas Rocks!

Gruene, Texas

The above photo was taken in Gruene (pronounced "Greene") a German town near San Antonio.

We are home from the two week Texas Hill Country vacation. We dragged in about 2:00 pm today with our motorcycles in tow. Whew. What a long drive! Especially when towing over 2,000 pounds across uneven pavement for countless miles. The trip was happily uneventful though. So no complaints (at least, no loud complaints ... ha ha).

Anyway, here's a link to all the photos from the trip: MyPhotoAlbum . I may still be labeling some of them, so, if in doubt as to where we were, feel free to ask.

Now we can't wait to go back again!

Ready To Head Home

The bikes and other non-essential items are loaded on the trailer. We're ready to head out in the morning. What a great place this is! The Texas Hill Country is our kinda place. The Hampton Inn has become a second home to us this week. It's been lovely and comfortable.

We did a big loop today. From Kerrville to Camp Verde. Then over to Leakey (pronounced "Lakey"), down through Utopia to Medina, then back to Kerrville. So, I thought I'd share a few photos of our trip today. See y'all in a few days!

FM 337 to Leakey, TX

We where privileged to ride the wonderful Texas roads. Some turns are off camber with steep grades making them a bit dicey, but they're still quite a bit of fun ... as long as there are no slow pokey cruisers in front, slowing the approaches ... jingle, jingle. [giggle] Sorry, personal joke. For those of you who don't ride, our local friend, Pappy, very kindly lead us around the Hill Country one day and he rides a cruiser style motorcycle. He told us later that the bells under his floor boards kept 'jingling' on some of those tight turns which means he was dangerously close to dragging. This is NOT a good thing on a motorcycle.

Anyway, we had such a good time while he was here. Pappy was very missed after leaving. Thanks for showing us Greenhorns around pal!

Camp Verde Creek

There is some breathe taking scenery, especially around the creek beds.

Dam Store

We even stopped at that dam store. [lol]

"Where the deer and the antelope play ..."

Nanny Goats (but not in panties)

Margaret, are you missing any goats? The one up front kept 'talking' to us "baaa, baaa, baaa". Then when we didn't feed her, she started spitting. It was so comical.

Time to replace this user. I'm tired. Goodnight until the next post! God bless.

Welcome To Obama's USSA

This one is no shock. I had the TV on not too long ago and was watching a live feed of the illegal new 'President' Mr. Obama speaking. He very flippantly stated something similiar to "I have to do something about this internet ..."

"Excuse me!!??" I remember shouting in the general direction of our TV. I turned to hubby and said "Oh brother, what do you suppose he's up to now?! 'Do' something about the internet?"

Well, here it is folks. This is what he wants to 'do' to the internet. And it's straight from the horses ass ... mouth Mr. Obama himself.

Cries of protest, censorship meet news of cybersecurity bill

Communism, Fascism, treading on liberties, censorship and other political cries greeted the news of proposed legislation in the U.S. Senate that would give the president power to disconnect the Internet.

While many Network World readers thought the story on a bill introduced April 1 in the Senate concerning cybersecurity was an April Fools' gag, it was not.

"This was an April Fools, right? Please say that it was," one reader wrote.

The bill was introduced by West Virginia Democratic Sen. John Rockefeller, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and Sen. Olympia Snowe, a Republican from Maine.

The sweeping legislation included a provision to give the president the power to "order the disconnection of any Federal government or United States critical infrastructure information systems or networks in the interest of national security."

Critics of the measure said the provision needed to be more clearly defined, but expected the Internet, along with telecommunications and banking systems, to fall under "critical infrastructure."

Many Network World readers said the bill gives the government too much power and liken the scope of its provisions to China and other communist countries or regimes.
And many criticized President Obama for abuse of power even though he had nothing to do with the bi-partisan legislation that would pertain to any sitting president.

"This guy is taking over banks, auto and now the internet. Is it time to move to a small deserted island in the Pacific until this madness runs it's course." wrote one anonymous responder.

Still others said that cybersecurity is a serious issue that will take some difficult decisions to combat.

"...Some good may come off the mere existence of this idea. As for security standards: It can be something sweeping, or something as basic as "Use of a hardened OS is required," which is loose enough to permit variety," said reader N. Secure.
Some were put off by the ill-defined reference to national security that was part of the bill.

"You would be amazed at what the government can consider 'national security.' Let's see... A report about black water goes public on CNN. Government feels report undermines its authority... Next thing you know, CNN is disconnected from the world due to "National Security," said G3iMacMan, on Network World's Web site. "This is government censorship. That is what is happening in China. Do you know what to do in the event of a cyber attack? You unplug YOUR OWN network cable. And you ADVISE others to do the same. This is a VERY BAD IDEA."

The references to other forms of government were a recurring theme.

"The walls keep getting closer. Regulation keeps increasing while the opposition is targeted by name. Welcome to fascism," wrote one responder.

"Hello Comrads! Welcome to the United Socialist States of America. We have become them...we just don't know it yet. Any co-incidence that every position filled by Obama is aptly named 'czar'?" wrote another.

A poster called Spee said, "We already have the new GM, aka Government Motors. What's next? Government approval of internet services? Yeah, great, let's imitate countries like North Korea, China and Saudi Arabia.

Others said the bill just needed to die.

"I like Obama, as a rule, but this legislation has got to die on the vine," said an anonymous poster.

Despite the questions, concerns and complaints some saw good in the bill's intent
"If such a crisis should ever happen then fine give the president the authority to 'pull the internet plug' on all government owned systems and systems that must connect to government systems. But to shutdown the internet for the entire country and everyone is a scary thought," responded an anonymous poster.

And some thought that congressional time could be spent better in other areas.

"There are already policies and procedures in place in government IT departments to shun traffic at the router in the event of an attack, whether it be worm/botnet related or any form of DoS," said an anonymous poster. "For the most part, government networks are monitored and administered by capable and competent government IT professionals or contractors. Congress would spend it's time better by looking at how our current defense stance could be improved, and allot funding for upgrades and infrastructure redesign. There is no need for a law that gives the executive branch such autonomous sweeping power."

Either we do something about this now or we learn to live with the consequences of further lost liberties. I know I'm going to get in contact with my representatives, etc. come Monday and make my voice heard.

Southeast Georgia Flood Warnings

Here in the Texas Hill Country, it's cool and sunny with heavy winds. Back home it appears our roads are all but washed out!

Gee whiz, we're only gone for 5 days and the 'world' falls apart. [lol]

I hope that the Pierce County Road Department will have our dirt road repaired by the time we have to traverse it with a motorcycle trailer. Our road is one of those on the list of closings.

List of road closures and washouts at The Blackshear Times.
