We did a big loop today. From Kerrville to Camp Verde. Then over to Leakey (pronounced "Lakey"), down through Utopia to Medina, then back to Kerrville. So, I thought I'd share a few photos of our trip today. See y'all in a few days!
We where privileged to ride the wonderful Texas roads. Some turns are off camber with steep grades making them a bit dicey, but they're still quite a bit of fun ... as long as there are no slow pokey cruisers in front, slowing the approaches ... jingle, jingle. [giggle] Sorry, personal joke. For those of you who don't ride, our local friend, Pappy, very kindly lead us around the Hill Country one day and he rides a cruiser style motorcycle. He told us later that the bells under his floor boards kept 'jingling' on some of those tight turns which means he was dangerously close to dragging. This is NOT a good thing on a motorcycle.
Anyway, we had such a good time while he was here. Pappy was very missed after leaving. Thanks for showing us Greenhorns around pal!
There is some breathe taking scenery, especially around the creek beds.
We even stopped at that dam store. [lol]
Margaret, are you missing any goats? The one up front kept 'talking' to us "baaa, baaa, baaa". Then when we didn't feed her, she started spitting. It was so comical.
Time to replace this user. I'm tired. Goodnight until the next post! God bless.
Thanks for the laughs and the great scenery tonight. I pray that you will have a safe trip home.
ReplyDeleteso THAT's where the kids went!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Camp Verde Creek.
And what's an FM? In these parts, FM is radio.
Thanks Mildred. That's so sweet. We will be careful what with towing the trailer and all.
ReplyDeleteMargaret ~ "FM" is an old term for "Farm To Market" and is used almost exclusively for farm roads. I didn't know it's meaning either until recently.
Thanks y'all for stopping by! :o)
Love the pictures especially Camp Verde Creek. Really nice picture. You guys be careful coming home. We are suppose to be having a few windy days in Georgia.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the scenery! Believe it or not, we woke up to snow this a.m. I am enjoying the beauty of your photos. I'm glad the trip was a success!

Hey, I resemble those remarks. Great journal of your adventure. I wish I could have stayed a little longer. Barbara is already planning a time when she can go. Did you ever make it out to Fire Creek? I still haven't cleaned up the bike, I guess I will before the end of the week. Drive safely. Pappy

Hi Kat, We had a GREAT time! So great, in fact, I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I long to go 'play' and not work. Sorry I've been neglecting everyone else's blogs. Hopefully I'll be back to acting normal again soon. Well, 'normal' for me. [lol]
