Sunday Stealing: Music

 Stolen from PinInterest (Original here)

Name a song that ...

🎼 1. You enjoy, in another language.  "Eres Tu" by Mocedades

"Eres Tu" means "You Are". Below are the Lyrics in English:

Like a promise, you are, you are...
like a summer morning.
Like a smile, you are, you are [to me]
That's how, that's how, you are [that's how I perceive you]

You are like my hope, you are, you are... [to me]
like a fresh rain in my hands.
Like a strong breeze, you are, you are [to me]
That's how, that's how, you are [that's how I perceive you]

You are the water of my fountain
You are the warmth in my home
You are ...
You are something like, ohhhh
Like the fire in my fireplace (something like the fire from my fireplace)
You are ...
(You are something like, ohhhh)
The wheat in my bread
My love, you are something like that

Like my poem, you are, you are [to me]
Like a guitar in the night,
you are all my horizon, you are [to me]
That's how, that's how, you are [that's how I perceive you]

You are the source of my water
You are the warmth in my home
You are (You are something like, ohhhh)
Like the fire in my fireplace (something like the fire from my fireplace)
You are (You are something like, ohhhh)
The wheat of my bread (my love, you are something like that).
You are...

🎼 2. Recently introduced you to a new singer.  There is no modern music I care for, that I can think of. They were playing some kind of crap music in Ace Hardware the other day. I had to leave it was so awful.

🎼 3. You listen to to energize.  Symphony No. 9 (Beethoven) or New World Symphony (Dvorak)

🎼 4. Is your favorite song from a musical.  "On The Street Where You Live" from My Fair Lady.

🎼 5. Reminds you of an old love.  "(They Long To Be) Close To You" by Karen Carpenter

🎼 6. Make you think of one of your children.  Never been blessed in that respect. πŸ˜Š

🎼 7. Makes you smile when you hear it.  "Moon River". It reminds me of when I tried to learn the guitar because it was one of the lessons I was given to learn. I didn't do well so gave up. My talents followed other paths.

🎼 8. You love but is quite unknown.  "I Only Have Eyes For You" by Art Garfunkel. For me, his version is the absolute best. His voice is as sweet as honey.

🎼 9. That annoys you.  "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". Ugh. Can not stand that song.  😱

🎼 10. That your parents used to listen to.  My step-mom, Myra, liked listening to Polka, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, Roy Clark (the best guitar player ever), those types of genre. I 'inherited' my love for good tunes from her. Myra's favorite song was "Last Dance" by Floyd Cramer. Every time I hear it now I tear up. I do miss her terribly. She's the only Mother I remember.  πŸ’Œ

🎼 11. From your early years of childhood. πŸ’“ (see #7 and #10)

🎼 12. That has a color in the title.  "Blue Clear Sky" by George Strait.

🎼 13. That needs to be played loud.  "Drivin' My Life Away" by Eddie Rabbitt (1980). I still like his tunes. It's a shame he passed away so young.

🎼 14. That is perfect for a road trip.  That depends on what mood I'm in: might be soft rock, or Classical, or Old Hymns or 70s-80s Country or Rock-A-Billy. If I'm with my husband there's no music because we talk.

🎼 15. That reminds you of yourself.  "Sister Golden Hair" by America also "Running On Empty" by Jackson Browne. We're about the same age. Gotta go now because I wanna hop on my motorbike and pop some rooster tails down our old dirt road ... bet I still can.  πŸ˜„πŸ️

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your Sunday is lovely. πŸ’“

Friday Fotos

🌻 As the temperatures slowly rise in preparation for Spring in the Southeast the dormant wildflowers have been making themselves known. First, we are decided to prepare the soil for planting a bag of Burpee wildflowers for Butterflies and Hummingbirds.

🌻 The next day we took a drive through neighboring Wayne County.

🌻 A well groomed dirt road in Wayne County. I wish our County roads looked this good.

🌻 One of our harbingers of Spring is the Wild Mustard that grows along the dirt roads all over the Southeast.

🌻 What are they? I don't know. They are low growing and make the fields a lovely lilac hue when growing en masse.

🌻 An old barn near Screven, Georgia

🌻 Me standing next to one of our metal steeds. It was still chilly until after Noon. Then it became warm, balmy, and the air sweet.

🌻  Yesterday, we worked on removing one more old Pear tree. Two down, two to go! πŸ˜… Unfortunately, we didn't finish cutting or removing the old Pear yet. Steve's back gave out, bless his heart. He had to go rest.

🌻 Meanwhile, Maggie had to "help" our outside activities by chasing away whatever was hiding under an old burned out stump. She's such a hoot.

🌻 That's it. I hope y'all have a wonderful rest of the day and weekend.  πŸ’ŒπŸ️

A Real Love Story

The first real love story. Amen? Thank you Jesus for saving us from the "wrath to come". By His grace we are saved.

Right now I'm comfortably ensconced in my recliner with a belly full of New England Breakfast Blend coffee and the heater humming peacefully along because it's 33* outside. I am anxious to get out there to begin preparing for Spring planting. Yesterday, I spotted this design in a magazine. It's made from grape vines. One of our plans is to have as big a Butterfly garden as possible off one of our back decks. We live on a fairly good size amount of acreage surrounded by woods. Therefore there is an abundant supply of free muscadine grape vines trailing off the pines and scrub oaks. I plan (note 'plan', doesn't mean I will 'do') to chop some down and while the vine is green and pliable, make this design myself. I used to do things like that Way Back When. $30 to $40 for a premade one is just silly when there's ample free vines all around. With these plans in mind I have ordered a small string of solar fairy lights off Amazon to dress it up with. Stay tuned to see if I actually follow through. "The best made plans ..." etc. etc. πŸ˜…πŸ˜

"Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see."

I hope your day is blessed with the true love that flows from His throne to our hearts. πŸ’“

Friday Fotos & A Funny

Writing really can be hard, just like motorbikin'. To compose a coherent thought sometimes it's almost like I need to knock some ideas outta my head to get motivated. 😁

Part of the problem is we have been busy lately! Along with raking, burning, cutting down dead or dying trees, trimming trees on the long, winding driveway, etc. there's been other matters to address. Briefly, here's our week in photos:

I took a long time cleaning up my home office cum sewing and craft area. It took me days to throw away, straighten, organize everything and move furniture. Now I'm ready to rock and roll!

One day this week we drove to the Georgia coast to visit Brunswick, do some shopping and check out a new coffee shop called The Facility. The shop also has a gun range, how cool is that?! Afterwards, Steve shopped at The Academy (sporting goods store). I was bored so went the other way to shop at their Hobby Lobby. Yes, I want that sign.  πŸ‘€πŸ˜„ That's so me.  πŸ˜‚

Yesterday, we had another wild hair moment and drove up to Baxley. County Farm has a lot of their Spring flowers ready for purchase! There's still too much threat of frost or freeze even for Southeast Georgia, so, all the plants stayed there. I'm resisting all temptation to bring them all home. I plan to wait until March. We did buy a new cultivator from Harbor Freight earlier this week. It's a nice little 2-stroke by some Chinese company. We'll use that for planting later on. Hopefully it will work as it should and give us years of service. I just can't hoe anymore. Hurts my shoulders and Steve's back. It's not worth the pain.

That's pretty much it. Today, we're treating ourselves (like we really work so hard) 😏 [/sarc] to more special coffee at our local watering hole. Oh, and it's tax season in what's left of America. Even though our politicians don't think they should pay their taxes we always try to do the right thing to keep the goons away. Gotta go cut them a check and be done with it for another year. I don't worry. Their day of reckoning is comin'. Oh yes.

I hope your day is lovely, bright, and full of joy. Remember, it's all good when you're a Child of God. Keep looking up! Jesus is coming back soon. πŸ’“πŸ˜πŸ˜Ž

Sunday Blessings

Wasn't feelin' the Sunday Stealing today. Too many questions. Guess I'm tired from this past week. So, have a happy Sunday. We're heading to Church to worship the One we love the best with those who also love Him. Remember, Jesus LOVES YOU. I pray He will be removing us to His side soon. πŸ’

Keep it shiny side down and between the lines 'til we pass this way again.

Love and blessings. πŸ’ž

Friday Fotos

Good morning! Welcome to Friday Fotos. It's been a quiet week. Mostly one of yard work and errands. Pollen season is early this year which put us on the sidelines temporarily. That's OK. It's part of living.

I've been burning some of the 10 kazillion leaves that fell last year. Well, first I mulch, then I burn what is excess. Makes the acreage so much more manageable in Spring.

What was once going to the our Pear Orchard, which didn't pan out for many reasons, has become a problem of excess leaves and too much shade. The dead or dying trees are going to slowly be removed. Steve said that Pear trees wood are good for crafts or furniture. I suppose the larger tree could be milled and used for such. We'll see if we go that route. Might simply burn it all and move on. I'm so ready for Spring this year. I've already gotta list of flowers I want to plant all over the property. Now that we're almost totally carnivores there's not much need for vegetables anymore. I like this way of living. My body and pocket book agree with it.

Yesterday we stopped by our local Southern Sippin' in Blackshear for the weekly sugar-free Frozen Frappe'. That's my weekly "milkshake".

We're going shopping today, I think. The weather is lovely but I can't keep up the physical labor day after day like Once Upon A Time. There have to be days of rest in between or I'll pay for it with too many aches and pains.

I'll leave y'all with a funny or two. I hope your day is special, bright, and full of good news. Thanks for stopping by.
