Writing really can be hard, just like motorbikin'. To compose a coherent thought sometimes it's almost like I need to knock some ideas outta my head to get motivated. π
Part of the problem is we have been busy lately! Along with raking, burning, cutting down dead or dying trees, trimming trees on the long, winding driveway, etc. there's been other matters to address. Briefly, here's our week in photos:
I took a long time cleaning up my home office cum sewing and craft area. It took me days to throw away, straighten, organize everything and move furniture. Now I'm ready to rock and roll!
One day this week we drove to the Georgia coast to visit Brunswick, do some shopping and check out a new coffee shop called The Facility. The shop also has a gun range, how cool is that?! Afterwards, Steve shopped at The Academy (sporting goods store). I was bored so went the other way to shop at their Hobby Lobby. Yes, I want that sign. ππ That's so me. π
Yesterday, we had another wild hair moment and drove up to Baxley. County Farm has a lot of their Spring flowers ready for purchase! There's still too much threat of frost or freeze even for Southeast Georgia, so, all the plants stayed there. I'm resisting all temptation to bring them all home. I plan to wait until March. We did buy a new cultivator from Harbor Freight earlier this week. It's a nice little 2-stroke by some Chinese company. We'll use that for planting later on. Hopefully it will work as it should and give us years of service. I just can't hoe anymore. Hurts my shoulders and Steve's back. It's not worth the pain.
That's pretty much it. Today, we're treating ourselves (like we really work so hard) π [/sarc] to more special coffee at our local watering hole. Oh, and it's tax season in what's left of America. Even though our politicians don't think they should pay their taxes we always try to do the right thing to keep the goons away. Gotta go cut them a check and be done with it for another year. I don't worry. Their day of reckoning is comin'. Oh yes.
I hope your day is lovely, bright, and full of joy. Remember, it's all good when you're a Child of God. Keep looking up! Jesus is coming back soon. πππ
I love how y'all make Doing Life sound so enjoyable. I'm a little green around the edges (with envy), hoping there are still some impromptu excursions in our future.
ReplyDeleteThat sign is too cute, and 2 thumbs up for that coffee shop. Reminds me of a tin sign hanging outside my fav BBQ spot: "Firearms welcome. Please keep all weapons holstered unless need arises. In such a case, judicious marksmanship is appreciated."
Now I want the "firearms ..." sign too. LOL Most all of us CC24/7 anyway, even in Church. The last Church we were in does the same. Jesus told us to be armed until He returns. I take that seriously. Blessings. xx
DeleteI loved that "Come and Take It" sign, Sparky. And yes, in reference to Myra's comment, you do make Doing Life sound lovely and full of promise.
ReplyDeleteWish things hadn't gone the way they did in Brunswick for us; it would have been nice to visit that place.
Blessings!
I know, I wish it hadn't happened either but praise the Lord your Hubby is OK!? I pray he is still doing well and never has another episode like that. Blessings. xx
DeleteIt’s always nice to hear from you. Glad you had some excursions to brighten your winter days. You are looking good! Love that sign too. My sentiments as well. We haven’t done our taxes yet but the last 5 years or so, we don’t pay except for our property taxes which are due in April.
ReplyDeleteI’m looking forward to warmer weather. The last couple of days, my left knee and right hip has been flaring up from arthritis. It comes and goes. So I just roll with it. Most of the time it doesn’t bother me.
Take care - have a wonderful weekend and keep looking π up! ⬆️
It took every ounce of self-restraint to not buy all those flowers! They need to come live with me. LOL But, I'll wait. We usually get at least one more freeze before April. I want lots and lots of flowers this year. It gives me something more productive to do rather than sit around.
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your knee and hip! Prayers for healing and relief. I've "been there, done that" too.
Blessings. xx
I laughed out loud at the Welcome-ish sign, Pam! I'm feeling it too! I will have to check with Joe and Darlene to see if they have found the new coffee shop in Brunswick. Shooting range and coffee... hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteIt's still being built or renovated, so, it was a bit noisy this first time because of all the hammering. Hopefully that's done now. The Facility is located at 136 Venture Dr, Brunswick, GA near the Interstate. Hope they can give it a try. Blessings.
DeleteI love the Welcome-ish sign! Perfect...
ReplyDeleteGlad you two have been having fun. It's so nice to go look at flowers. I have a little wait yet. :)
Taxes are on my agenda too. Yes - the politicians time will come.
If it’s the cultivator I think it is you will love it. Any size plot and or encumbered some what. Using them for years and on my second one. No job to tough or big they just take more time except the tough and bigger ones will wear you out.
ReplyDeleteQuite right, those big cultivators wear out my shoulders. I hope this one is easier and lasts as long as I do. LOL
DeleteBlessings. xx
our life is much different, bob is 87 and sits in front of tv all day and i hang out on computer and read. we did do a one hour outing for the first time since 2020 this past week end, he can't walk far but we did go to the natl park and i took a few photos for the blog. i walk our 82 lb dog and blog. about the welcome sign. if i had one and i don't it would say welcome if i know you well, if i don't do not knock on the door. IF you decide to come in, you will be required to pet the 82 pound dog who will gladdly welcome you and sit on your feet. he is part dane. thanks for the comment on my blog today. I lost 70 pounds back in 2017 and have so far kept it off but it sure is tuff. i did mine by giving up sugar and snacks and eating sensibly and counting calories.
ReplyDeleteThat's super about losing weight! I always say, whatever works for you and your health, go for it. Keto works for us. I for sure don't want to be diabetic and I was heading down that road. It works for Steve (husband of 44+ yrs) was well. Our respective doctors are very pleased.
DeleteThanks for stopping by! Y'all may not do much but your brain is still very sharp. I enjoy reading your thoughts and writings.
God bless. xx
