Saturday Toilings

I've had such a wonderful day! Husband I have been working outside frequently of late. The weather is so pleasant. The air has that sweet, deliciousness about it that only Spring can have. Even my neck feels dandy. I must be completely healed from the surgery as I have no more pain at all now. Just a little muscle soreness on the right side from lack of use but that can be worked out. The secret is to pace myself and quick trying to do everything in 5 minutes. Even after all these years, I still have to remind myself that my father isn't yelling at me to "hurry up" anymore.

Sweeeeeeeet.

We're almost done with the matching planters project down by the road. The only chore remaining is to lay the red cypress mulch evenly between the Yellow Lantana and I'm 'Good To Go'. I plan to save that for after church tomorrow. When that is completed, I can share all the photos. It's suppose to rain Monday and that's good news too. It's been my experience that transplants love rain. They'll grow like crazy after that!

Then, we get to work on the rest of the yard! [sigh] It just never ends, does it? ... (aw, you know I love it .. lol).

Anti-Tax Tea Day Patriots (Updated)

In tradition with our rich heritage of free speech, my husband and I decided to join in one of the 'local' Tea Day protests.

We estimated there were about 636* folks in attendance at the St. Simon's Island Marina today. Could be more because some were pouring in as we left.

Everyone we talked to and met was polite, calm, and respectful. Most of us had never protested anything our entire lives. Says something, doesn't it? No wonder the liberal news media is lieing about all these events. Claiming that the Republicans are behind it, yadda, yadda, yadda. Bunch of hot air. Nope. This is a grass roots effort to stop the Democrat-Republican fascism in our politics.

And only a couple of passersby showed us their I.Q. level with one finger. I think that's pretty good!


Husband made the signs. Yeah, I see the misspelled "Allready" and made him carry it. Ain't I a stinker?

Well, it was such fun.

There were also petitions to sign that are being sent to our politians asking them to respect our wishes for lower taxes and less intrusive government. We are earnestly praying that these events will make a difference and are hoping to avoid another Civil War. I am praying that somehow we can restore our rights and liberties for future generations by going back to the Constitution. Hey, miracles can happen.

Oh, yeah, and we're going to be in the local Brunswick news. I'll post that if I can find a link and/or photos.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.'

Hubby told me that he knows now that it was watching one those old Billy Graham specials on TV that helped lead him to Christ. Mr. Graham has helped many people change their lives.

Wiregrass Musings

The weather and temperatures are so pleasant that we went for our daily two mile stroll this morning. I call it a stroll, because at our age anything over 2 miles per hour is brisk.

Can you believe the locals actually trash this beautiful scene? Yep. So, when I walk, I also carry a garbage bag and the proper tools for picking up trash. It's so pretty here that I want to keep it that way. Just my way of saving the world, one beer can at a time (and these are not mine). [giggle]

Ssssave Our Sssssnakessss
Met with Mr. Greensnake for a moment. He was laying in the road sunning himself. Lazy thing. "Get a job, you bum!" He didn't want to help, so, husband shoo-ed him off the road. At least he wouldn't get run over. We saw a brillant reddish colored young rat snake about 3 feet long yesterday. Hubby helped him off the road too before some local toothless yocal can brag "Yep, I kilt a rattle snake 10 feet long ..."

Anyway, it makes me wonder how many folks will be attending "Tea Party's" this April 15th? There's one in Atlanta, GA, I know that. We will watch Fox News all day and hope that others can make the events across country. Hey, I can't save the world on my own you people! Ya gotta meet me halfway here. [lol]

With all the rain, a box turtle decided to get up and move around. I love meeting up with all these creatures on our walks. Country living is so much fun!
