Forgot to mention that on Friday I was given my new space age splint. It is infinitely more comfortable than the quick, bulky wrap received at Hospital. The young fella that wrapped my hand did a good job but it was really uncomfortable to wear for too long. The new one can get wet or be removed easily. Super cool.
Saturday, we drove around the County looking at homes For Sale for Steve's little sister and family. They're hoping that soon they can list their South Florida home on the market to live here. All this exploring is adding to my knowledge about our area that even after over 35 years I didn't know! To me looking at land and houses is fun.
After returning home I was walking one of my prayer circles around the property. (That's when I try to go through the entire prayer list.) Nearly to the house, walking in the driveway, I began limping from something stuck to the bottom of my Skechers. I thought it was a pine cone. Well, it wasn't!!! It appears to be one of the original nails from when the house was being built 31 years ago! The rusty nail nearly pushed clear through the rubber sole into my big toe. Yipes! That sure could have been much worse. God was protecting me for sure.
Back inside a transformer had blown somewhere on our country road and everyone had lost power. Thank the good Lord for the All-House Generator that roared to life keeping all those costly groceries at a good temp.
That evening I was sick as a dog from the antibiotics (Amoxicillin-clavulanate)! Turned me inside out upside down and backwards. Ugh. I've quit taking anymore. I'll call the Doc today to ask for something else.
"Wow," I thought, "we're under attack, or, at least I am." I stopped right then and rebuked Satan openly, giving praise to our blessed Saviour for a strong hedge of protection. Satan has to leave when we rebuke him in Jesus name. I know y'all know this too, but, that spiritual warfare is real. π‘️✝️
I hope everyone had a good Mother's Day on Sunday? I missed Church because I lost so much sleep from the medicine debacle. Now I feel discombobulated. π It's all good though. Everything happens for a reason. At least the aurora borealis was pretty. No pics. I was too unwell for walking around outside.
Not sure what is planned for today or the week. I guess we'll play it by ear. Can't do much else except read or light housework or drive around just yet. Oh, I am reading a new book titled, "God's Smuggler" by Brother Andrew with John and Elizabeth Sherrill. It's a true-life thriller that takes place during World War II and beyond. This young Dutch fella goes from rebel to working undercover for God. So far it's really holding my attention.
Thanks for stopping by. Keep looking up dear ones! Jesus loves you.

Ride Safe,
Its a good thing you felt that nail before it made you need more antibiotics. I had on a pair of Crocs in the back yard last year and stepped on a long thorn from a bougainvillea, and it went through the rubber sole. no damage done, but could have been bad. that is cool that they have the contraction you can remove and water proof. about your comment of Google keep notes. I love that and I put notes in there for fixes on blogger, I have been using them for years. I have 10 notes that have been there several years. like once I was shopping and had basket full and the register said my card was stolen. I went to customer service and called the card because it was not and bob had his and I had mine. she said if you can tell me the amount of the last deposit and the date I will turn your debit card back on. each year when our SS check amount changes, I remove the old and add the new, of course I have never needed it since then
ReplyDeleteYes, we are definitely in the midst of Spiritual Warfare. I'm right there with you and pray hedges of protection around us all the time.
ReplyDeleteI read God's Smuggler many years ago and heard Brother Andrew speak.
I love true stories that are such a testimony.
Hope your finger will continue to heal and I'm glad you got a new cast for it.
Sorry about feeling so terrible. Sometimes it seems that the meds are worse than the problem.
Prayers
Sue
Gosh that nail looks wicked! Had it penetrated the sole I'm can just imagine the look on the face of your medic ... "Back so soon?".
ReplyDeleteSo glad y'all have a whole-house generator. That's something I never gave thought to when we lived our West, but here's a whole 'nother story.
I pray you're feeling lots better today? I've a new Rx for essential tremor, but after reading the side effects and visiting with my pharmacist this morning I'm going to forego the pills.
Thanks. Lots better. Just bored sitting on the sidelines.
DeleteMany times I've skipped the legal poison, especially pain killers, and healed anyway. Imagine that ...π
That would have been a disaster for you had the nail broken through! It made me think of the time when I was six or seven, and a rusty nail pierced the sole of my Keds, It was so painful! Thank goodness for tetanus shots.
ReplyDeleteThat wrist wrap looks so much more comfortable than what you had before, too. We didn't make it to church yesterday because Danny was really suffering from lack of sleep, too. Next week, Pentecost, we will be singing during the service. I'm looking forward to it already!
Blessings, Sparky!
Poor Danny! Prayers for healing! πππππ
DeleteFor goodness sakes - you better stay inside! That rusty old nail could have really done some damage.
ReplyDeleteI can no longer take anti-biotics. Well I could, but I'd be sick. It really messes me up and messes with my gut. Let me know what it is they can give you instead.
As for spiritual warfare - I am thinking that that might be the case - seems since I agreed to be a BSF leader, strange things are coming up -
Sorry you were so sick, but happy that nail didn't puncture your toe!! Rest and get well - and praying that your finger heals quickly and perfectly!! Have a happy week ahead! xo
ReplyDeleteGirl you have had it rough. I am glad that the nail didn't go through to your foot though - you were blessed.
ReplyDeleteDid you get a new antibiotic?
Get well!
I like the new splint, it's much more user friendly!
ReplyDeleteGlad your foot didn't get stabbed by that nail.
And then getting sick from the antibiotics? You did have a weekend. Praying you are healing all over!
I read that Brother Andrew book and enjoyed it.
I am reading posts in reverse...saw your newer post already, and now I am at yesterday's posts. I am so sorry to hear about the antibiotic illness...I've had that and hate it. I am glad you are doing better today. And so thankful that nail didn't make it all the way through. Wow, that would have been nasty! Yes, praying a hedge around us these days is important...the devil doesn't want to see us joyful, so he keeps trying to find ways to needle us. But Jesus is bigger and stronger and He will keep us safe from the real evil that lurks. Sending strong prayers your way dear friend. (((hugs)))
