The Copper Pig

I know, that sounds like the beginning of a ribald joke, doesn't it? I thought the same, but The Copper Pig is an actual restaurant located in the coastal town of Brunswick, Georgia.

Sparky and Vicki

Friday was my nearest and dearest friend's birthday. Vicki prefers this restaurant above all others, so, that's how we ended up there. We where also joined by her husband and son. They're all delightful, salt-of-the-earth people. I consider myself fortunate that they like me, Grumpy Guss that I am. *grin*

The first thing the Copper Pig hits a customer with are their homemade mouth-watering desserts.

There are quirky decorations on every possible wall, even in the bathrooms. If I hadn't planned an afternoon of shopping, I would have spent a few moments at the Moonshine Bar.

Who is that good lookin' guy winking at me at the end of the table? (Ok, I confess, it's only my sweet husband. Just because there's snow on the roof, doesn't mean there isn't a fire in the furnace.)

Vicki was a good sport and took a shot at riding the pig. The waitress said that those celebrating birthdays get a free ride. Otherwise, one must ask permission and pay $3. I don't think I'd try at any price.

Next is my birthday (the 20th). I'm not sure which restaurant we'll be gracing next.

So, if you're ever in Brunswick, come on by and enjoy one of there homemade desserts or chow down on a BBQ sandwich. There's also fresh butchered meat for sale if interested. I think next time I'll bring a cooler!

What a great idea - a shop and a restaurant in one. I envy you. It looks like a great place to be at.

Such a long way from the UK though.

God bless.

The Copper Pig would be my choice too! Other than riding the pig, there looks like many items to browse through. I know your friend was happy to have you celebrate with her, and maybe she can celebrate with you in a couple of days. Thanks for sharing the pictures, and the man with the snow on the roof has my vote! My man has a beard like Santa and little, very little, snow left on his roof! lol

Dave says that Steve looks great with a beard! Remember when we last saw you, he was clean shaven. I love the name of the place!! Thanks for the smiles. Blessings

A little birdie named Mildred told me that you had a birthday this week. Celebrate all week long! A free ride on a pig sounds like an offer too good to refuse! =D

That looks like such a fun place. I can almost see my reflection in the dessert glass as I stand there transfixed and drooling. And an actual mechanical pig? Nice!

Have you ever heard of Cracker Barrel? Their restaurant is the same way. When you come through the front doors, you're bombarded with all sort of gift items and misc. foods. We always head for the dining room first, fill our stomachs, then go shopping on the way out.
Thanks for coming by and leaving that nice comment on my post yesterday. It was good to hear from you after my long absence. You have a happy Birthday Wed.

Still can't find my way to the Copper Pig.

Did you know that if you drive for 23 hours and 55 minutes you would be 5 minutes from Tulsa?

I read that in a book I am writing.

God bless.

@Victor ~ I like the West but, darlin', I didn't leave anything out there I need to retrieve. *grin* BTW, here's what you need: Vacation House. It's lovely waterfront property and I'll bet there's no "B"s there ... just "C"s (get it? seas?). *giggle* :)))

Hi Sparky,

London is such a lovely place to visit. I really recommend it. Whether you stay on a boat, hotel or rented house.

God bless.
