First Container Garden Crop
Remember the new container garden? Well, today, I've harvested my first winter crop from it! That's broccoli and one head of cauliflower. We planted too late for any more harvest this season too. I know, I know, we would have starved to death if this was a necessity. So much for 'shrugging'. Next season we'll start earlier, plant more and I might go back to planting in the ground. I may save the container gardening for tomatoes and green beans. We have so many wild rabbits and such that it's better to keep the beans out of mouth reach anyway.
Bon Appétit Y'all!

Good for you; the veggies look delicious! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks! They where! YUM ... :)
ReplyDeleteMy 2 fav's. I cooked cauliflower the other day & made cheese sauce to go over it ... yum. Well, I bit into it & went OH NO!! I bought Mexican 4 cheese (yes I went international) rather than regular. Everyone except me loved it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

Miss all your dailies on FB, kiddo.
I'm with you. I love the 4 Mexican cheese but have to admit, I don't think it would go well with cauliflower. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks but I feel kinda relieved not to be on FB right now. Maybe I'll return ... some day ... (I'm such a Prima Dona ... ha ha ha)
God bless!
Nice work! Winter gardening is awesome, next year will be even better for you. Are you starting your spring crops yet?
ReplyDeleteNot yet Lanny. I'm told by those Who Know More Than Me (which is anyone who's garden before) that we are to plant in March. Probably mid-March would be my guess as the best time to plant. :)
