Postard Friendship Friday (03/06)

Dog and Boy on Indian Motorcycle

I found this nifty little number on the 'net at Apex Postcards. Apex states the postcard is "Velox Stampbox, c. 1900-1910". So, I guess the postcard is about 100 years old. Wow.

The boy doesn't look very happy, does he? Maybe he wants to ride and not sit around waiting for a picture to develop. Let's let the boy go now ...

Postcard Friendship Friday is hosted by my friend Marie at Voila! Vintage Postcards. Pay her lovely blog a visit if y'all have time.

  1. Oh be still my beating heart. If I weren't married and fifty and if this chap wasn't like already probably deceased, he would so be my bf. Okay admitedly I am just using him for his bike, call me shallow, I know. I sorta like his dog too, so it wouldn't be just for his bike. But he looks kinda grumpy and his hair is straight. But I can overlook all that 'cause the bike is keen.

So, bike girl, how come when they make a "heritage" model it never really looks heritage like this?

  2. LOL! He really does has the 'take the dumb picture already' look on his face! Good call! Fido is certainly hamming it up:) He knows that a bone is in his future!

  5. This postcard reminds me of a movie I really liked called The World's Fastest Indian with Anthony Hopkins .I believe the record still stands, 183+ MPH
    riding his Indian Scout motorcycle
on Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats(1967). His name was Burt Munro 67 years old from New Zealand. Quite a story.

  6. Hah! What an expression! Typical of the age of the young boy - hates having his picture taken but loves his motorcycle and is dog - he'll do it for their sake and because his mother insists on the picture.

My word verification is moope - reminds me of the Seinfeld Bubble Boy episode.

  7. That boy definitely does not want his picture taken, or maybe he doesn't want the dog riding with him.

  8. Happy PFF!

Great picture and so appropriate for YOU! It was waiting to be picked up and taken home.

The dog sure looks like he's having a grand time though. ha ha Oh if old postcards could talk about where they originated and where they have been.
