A Day Trip To The Big City

Isn't life just like this. I set off to do one thing, and end up doing another.

Yesterday, to lighten the mood, Hubby and I drove to neighboring big city of Brunswick to buy a Halloween costume for me (I love Halloween ... just a big kid really), and ended up toting home something entirely unrelated.

This bedspread is called the "Cassandra" from JC Penney. They where having a Big Sale and I couldn't say No. It looks quite nice in the room, don't ya think? These colors and pattern compliment the new carpeting, in my opinion.

So, I'm a little bit poorer but still must find, or come up with, some kind of costume that does not entail any masks for our Second Annual Halloween Party. Any suggestions? Which holidays do you enjoy the most?

  1. I love it, Sparky. Hmm....on the costume...since you just installed the security camera, how about FBI secret spy agent? LOLOLOL

  3. We were discussing Halloween in my house earlier as we go mad with the decoration outside. For England it is a bit strange to go to the extent that we do but the kids around here love it and as it is a school holiday that week they love joining in with my cobwebs and gravestones. My daughter has friends round and they use theatrical make up to scare the older ones. As for costume I always think a normal outfit but the face being done is always more scarey. Love the bedspread, nice and cozy. Take care xx

  4. I'm very wary of Big Sales. At the tailor's window it said: SALE 50% OFF EVERYTHING

I went in to buy a suit for work. They only sold me the jacket and no trousers. My boss was not pleased when I went to work the next day.

    God bless.

  5. The bedspread is lovely and makes the bedroom pop! Well, not pop pop, but you know what I mean. I love a bargain! Not much into Halloween since the kiddies are all gone, so cant help with your costume. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday.

  6. That is a pretty bed spread and better yet since it was on sale.
I love Halloween but I don't really dress-up in costume but I do love decorating the house.

  7. Sparky, I'd have gone for the comforter too. Love anything quilted and this one is beautiful. I love your bedroom furniture too. How nice. I liked having fun at the carnivals at schools and church but we didn't have a lot of money to spend on costumes or candy so our kids had to wear whatever we could make up from home. We had a clown costume that my mom made when I was little. It went through me, my sister, my son, my daughter and I still have it. We did faces. My son had camo so we painted him green and he was the Incredible Hulk one year. I borrowed costumes. One year my daughter was a birthday present, a box and a bow. Bless her heart she tore it before getting into the car. One year my son got a football helmet for Christmas so he was a football player. We used what we had.
