Precious Pets Linky

I learned from my good friend at Blackberry Lane this week, With A Grateful Prayer And A Thankful Heart, is hosting a linky party featuring our beloved pets. At first I thought I'd be too busy to participate (going through some minor home renovations) but now it seems I have the time to write at least a brief post.

I've had many cats and dogs through the years. My favorite companion is a dog.

When Maxie died, I felt like I'd died with her. I really didn't want any more pets for awhile. It hasn't even been a year, and I still miss her terribly. But, life goes on.

Newest to the menagerie is Sam and Jack. Or as we call them The Jack Russell Terrorists! I should have named them Destruct-o and Mauler as they are known to destroy any toy within their eye sight. *lol* Anyway, I think they're kinda cute, even if they don't have fuzzy schnauzer faces.

Sam (left) and Jack destroying playing with a new toy.
"We're just two wild and crazy guys!"

Sam looks like he's saying, "Whatchya doin' Mommy?"

Lucy and Jack taking a nap.

Lucy, the 12 year old Boxer, was unsure of the new crew at first, but now she's warmed up to them and they are nearly inseparable. I think they bring her a lot of comfort in her old age. She's ailing a bit these days. Her hind legs are starting to atrophy terribly from her disability. Big dogs are such good fun but I think this will be our last one. It's going to really hurt when she's gone too.

Ride Safe,

  1. Oh what sweet babies. Jack Russell's are a bit wild for me, but yours I could fall in love with. They are beautiful! I have two fur grand babies and they love me better than Connor does, right now anyway.

  4. Your doggies are so cute and look to be full of spunk! Our pets are part of the family - no doubt about it, and when one dies, we grieve as we do when others die.

  5. Thank you so much for sharing your sweet dogs. These are awesome photos! I can only imagine how much you miss Maxie. She had a wonderful life with you guys. Thanks so much for joining in the fun. Don't work too hard on the home projects! Have you seen the new show about tiny little houses?? Can't remember the name or the channel, but they are super compact! maybe Tiny Nation??

  7. Hi Sparky!

So nice stopping by to meet your precious pets! :)They sure are adorable ~ antics and all.

Our last dog, Scotty, was a big one. He was a perfect boy but suffered with arthritis and in the end had a hard tine getting around. I made a decision then that I would get a smaller dog that I could carry if need be. I went from a 92 lb. dog to a 20 lb dog. Next time I will think about going even smaller.

I am so happy you joined in Perfectly Precious Pets! Thinking about hosting once or twice a month because I just love seeing everyone's pets.

    Kindly, Lorraine

  8. A lot of fun to meet your pets! I'm a cat gal myself, but there has been a dog or two who stole my heart. It's never easy to lose a family member and that's just what a pet becomes.

  9. Gosh, Pam...I know what you mean about big dogs. I keep thinking if something happened to Sadie, I'm not sure I could lift her into the vehicle. She weighs a trifle over 100 pounds and the maximum I've ever lifted was around 60-65...and that was when I was younger.
I told Dave, "I want to die the day after my dog dies." He understood.

  10. Hi Sparky! Oh my gosh...I love your sweet doggies...your two jacks looks much like my Hunter! Aren't they just the smartest dogs? And Lucy looks like the perfect "mother"! Hunter gets his name honestly...my son taught him how to hunt deer when he was just a puppy. To this day, Hunter will track the deer after the shot!
