And southeast Georgia has many Hummingbirds. I call them "hummin' bees" because they sound very similar to bees in flight. We had a few earlier but now there must be dozens. Little rascals won't hold still for a photo shoot, so, I apologize for the poor picture quality. Aren't they adorable!?
Hope you enjoyed the visit to our home. Thanks for coming by.
I am thankful for the rain also. That jasmine of yours is glorious! I love your hummers too. It's a little cooler and breezy today - nice for working in the garden!
ReplyDeleteLucky duck! The rain here just brought me tons and tons and tons and tons of weeds!
ReplyDeletepurty!! It rained since you all left our fair state, yesterday was the first nice day. MISS YOU ALL.. You should be getting my snail mail soon.
ReplyDeleteI have only seen one hummingbird this year. I hope when it warms up I see more. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love hummingbirds! Jasmine, too.
ReplyDeleteThe plant with the yellow flowers is supposed to be a bush. It's too small to tell yet. I'm hoping someone will be able to identify it!
As for your little niece, if she played in a sandbox she could have been exposed to cat "droppings" that could have made her sick. Happens too often! Sandboxes should really be covered in between play. How is she doing? She's adorable.
We have quite a few hummingbirds too. They are hard to get a good picture of them. We have been noticing a LOT of baby brown bunnies in our yard. I have seen several of them over the last week or so. We did so need the rain too. But I am ready for the sun to keep shining now!
ReplyDeleteOh beautiful flowers!
Lucky you - to have your hummin' "bees". I am determined to attract them to my yard this year (I caught one buzzing around the redbud tree the other day).
ReplyDeleteDon't take it personally, but I've dropped off of FB - too many distractions from my work. I will still stay in touch, Sparky.

Mildred ~ I had things to do but it's too cold and wet to go outside here. I want to ride my motorcycle. Aw well.
ReplyDeleteMarie ~ We've got the weeds now too. Rats!
Linda ~ We MISS YOU TOO!! Hurry back!
Peggy ~ I think the hummer's have stopped off here until it warms up a bit. Brrrr!
Rosezilla ~ We have thought about the cat droppings. And it is being discussed. Thanks! She's still sick. Still getting tests run. We're still praying for a solution and an end to the sickness.
Valerie ~ Hummingbirds are favored by most people, I think. They're so cute and very delicate. We have bunches of bunnies too. If times get tough we may start eating them.
Kat ~ I totally understand! No offense taken. Thanks for letting me know. :o) These computer events are time suckers. Can't get anything done. I'm just glad you're not sick anymore. Don't work too hard.
God bless y'all! And thanks for stopping by with such sweet compliments.
Awe aren't the birds adorable! Great photo too - I think anyway! I'm jealous of your flowers cuz I don't have an emerald thumb and my yards are icko. Sigh! Coming over to visit you gives me hope! ha ha
ReplyDeleteAren't hummers just the grooviest little dive bombing nutzkers!!!
ReplyDeleteRain! So glad you got some, maybe that means I got a little less than I could have.
Suns out today, maybe that means I don't need to wear my rubber pants to work in.
Janeen ~ They are indeed adorable! I love "Hummers". I, too, tend to have a 'brown thumb'. I've learned to stop fighting nature and plant only natives. And they'd better be drought resistant doggone it or they're goners! ha ha Mother Natures a *itch so I quit fighting her.
ReplyDeleteLanny ~ They are nut cases! I almost caught one by accident this AM in our butterfly net (we use that to kill carpenter bees). He wanted to commit suicide in the net and I wouldn't let him. Thilly goose. ha ha Rubber pants? Oooookkkkaaayyyy No comment. HAR HAR
