Funny Motorcycle

In 1974, Steve rode his 1973 BMW R75/3 to the Daytona Bike Week (Daytona Beach, Florida). He noticed the motorcycle below and snapped a photo. I wish he had obtained the fellow's name who owned the bike but alas that is lost to history.

Oh, and the bike is a Harley Davidson Electra Glide, year unknown. I wonder how the guy could see where he's going!?

Ride safe y'all! :o)

**UPDATE 19 February 2009: We are now famous!! Costas Schuler "The Pen Man" at Art Car used these photos in one of his posts. Check him out! He has a wonderful site. I plan on also making a small donation to keep him on-line. ***

  1. That is one tricked out vehicle! Makes you wonder about some people's need for self-expression. I guess it would be like a woman decorating her house??

  4. Oh my goodness. That is outrageous! I love Harleys and we have bought those glow lights but haven't put them on yet. I can't wait to show my hubby these pics. Aren't you excited about warm weather so that we can get out and ride. My husband rides in cold weather but I don't, not with my immune system being the way it is. Safe riding to you too Sparky!!

  5. Nice bike! I am fascinated by the backgrounds in those photos- the first one has the old pea colored van/camper thing. And the second has the DONUT sign. I love that donut sign!

  6. Thanks! The parking lot was somewhere in the old part of Daytona. The Donut shop may still be there, I don't know. The van is probably either a Ford or a Dodge, modified for camping. Hard to tell from that era.
Did you see the ladies dress in the 2nd photo? My first handmade dress in 1973 was that very same "A" style of pattern. Boorriinngg design! LOL
    Groovy.

  12. An Ex-Georgia girl says Howdy back. I showed that Harley to my husband. He has a 2006 ST. He got a kick of that bike. I think we saw it once in Helen, Ga. Heck you see everything in Helen, Ga., especially after a few drinks.
